Agency Engagement Manager

Please note the requirement of at least 10 years of experience leading client relationships, primarily within a digitally-centric agency environment.

Role:

Core responsibilities are to participate in and/or lead the project sales process and then own and carry the vision for a project, budget management for a book of business, and cultivate new business opportunities within existing clients/projects. Engagement Managers have both authority and charisma, with an innate ability to connect with different personality types. In summary, this role owns the client relationship, is responsible for the budget, and ensures our teams deliver on each project promise. 

Ideal candidates will have areas of expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: digital transformation, custom software solutions, and/or digital marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

Relationship Management

  • Establish the vision for a project, set the overarching direction, and provide strategic guidance throughout the project lifecycle. 

  • Contribute to the overall strategy, feature sets, and roadmaps in conjunction with the team of subject matter experts. 

  • Lead & support the strategy, creative, development, and PMO teams to execute visually appealing, human-centered products with a best-in-class customer-oriented mindset.

  • Cultivate organic growth with clients by serving as an active listener to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.

  • Provide ongoing leadership of cross-functional teams to ensure we deliver projects/work that drives our clients’ businesses forward.

  • Work with the Director of PMO to manage an effective process and information flow between Sales and the Project Management teams that ensure a seamless and successful experience for clients.

  • Oversee budget management for an established book of business. Work with the PMO team and the VP of Finance to ensure all billing is completed at appropriate intervals. Work to resolve payment issues as needed. 

  • Actively troubleshoot client issues. Work with PMO to solve problems, provide solutions, and support to achieve an amicable resolution for both PRPL and the Client. 

Business Cultivation

  • Contribute to client’s business growth by identifying new opportunities. Aim to grow total client revenue by 20% year over year for the book of business.  

  • Work hand in hand with those in sales and business development by consulting on proposal solutions. 

  • Encourage a business development mindset working hand in hand with the teams to ideate solutions that meet a client’s business objectives.

  • Serve as a strategic point of contact for our clients by developing/brainstorming solutions to meet business objectives, overcoming challenges, or to act as a sounding board.

  • Meet weekly with President/COO to provide a status update on all accounts highlighting any opportunities for growth or raising red flags of concern. 


Contract Administration and Billing

  • Oversee all new statements of work, and follow up contract administration for the book of business. Ensure we adhere to and meet all contract deliverables. This includes ensuring adherence to deadlines, specific deliverables, contract renewals, warranties, etc. 

  • Oversee the creation of new contract agreements, SOWs, estimates, and change orders with their clients. 

  • Oversee the billing for their clients. Meet monthly with the VP of Finance to review billing and troubleshoot any past-due accounts. 

Requirements: 

  • At least 10 years of experience leading client relationships, primarily within a digitally-centric agency environment 

  • Experience in growing, managing, and inspiring internal teams; strong leadership and organizational skills must be complemented by a relationship-building management style

  • Ability to foster new business with existing clients and accounts. Evidenced by either continued business and/or year-over-year growth

  • Have a natural ability to navigate challenging situations and find mutually beneficial solutions

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of digital solutions and web design and development

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the correlation between business objectives and marketing key performance indicators.
