Director, Product Management

The Role ... 

The Director, Product Management will have primary responsibility for focusing the company’s core technology, data assets and emissions measurement methodologies into a scalable suite of products based on market need and Scope3’s mission to decarbonize digital advertising. The Director will have a commercial mindset – working closely with engineering and go to market teams (Sales, Services, Partnerships & Marketing) she / he will synthesize market opportunity into a comprehensive global solutions, lead the implementation of repeatable processes and the launch of commercially successful products consistent with the company’s mission.  

Collaborating closely with the CEO and COO she / he will articulate Scope3’s product strategy by understanding the media and advertising ecosystem’s need for products & tools to enable net zero media, the forces driving buyers & sellers to invest in green media and overlaying those insights onto commercial opportunities. A market facing executive by nature, the Director will embrace the company’s core values of education and evangelism by being visible in the industry and the “voice of the customer” internally.  

 First and foremost, Scope3’s she / he will be committed to the mission of decarbonizing digital advertising. She / He will be an accomplished product leader who’s a domain expert in advertising technology with an in – depth understanding of how data is used to drive outcomes and monetized. She / he will have a commercial focus and significant experience delivering successful products into rapidly evolving markets. The Director understands this role is as tactical as it is strategic and will be adept at shifting aperture as needed.  

 You’ll be responsible for:  

 Product Vision and Leadership …            

  • Own the roadmap – drive commercialization and execution.  

  • Identify market opportunities consistent with Scope3’s mission that leverage core technology and IP. 

  • Quickly recognize industry trends - rapidly map opportunities to current product capabilities and iterate in alignment with market direction. 

  • Distinguish Scope3’s offering in an emerging, noisy category

  • Quickly develop a deep understanding of customer needs and scalability & sustainability of product areas.

  • Create an exceptional team – recruit, develop, mentor and retain talent. 

  Commercial Growth … 

  • Accountable for supporting the strategy and execution of all sales and revenue initiatives.  

  • Identify opportunities for new and diversified revenue streams.  

  • Personally develop customer and partner relationships.  

  • Drive scale leveraging organic and inorganic growth.  

Execution … 

  • Identify key performance metrics and implement processes for measuring success.  

  • Clearly communicate financial objectives, release/development schedules and milestones.  

  • Make decisions and set priorities based on good judgment and analysis of data. 

  • Create a culture that embraces iteration in the context of a systems approach to product management.  

  Be the voice of the customer and marketplace … 

  • Ensure frictionless communication between commercial , product and engineering teams.  

  • Provide market feedback to engineering regarding product features, functionality and enhancements. 

  • Evangelize the company’s vision to key prospects, clients’ senior management, industry leaders and the media – drive awareness Scope3 and Net Zero.  

  • Seize opportunities to educate, advocate for Scope3’s mission.  

  Your experience:  

  • Previous successful experience leading Product Management teams delivering complex, data dependent supporting programmatic advertising.  

  • Proven ability to successfully launch new products where success pivoted on educating customers 

  • Previous accountability for financial performance of a product. 

  • Excellent presentation and communications skills to both internal and external stakeholders  

  • Ability to effectively engage with customers and partners – communicate product strategy and gather/interpret market feedback. 

  • Ability to understand the ROI of a given project and effectively communicate the information across the company. 

  • Attracted and led successful team – have an eye for talent and the ability to mentor & coach.  

  • Considered a domain expert in digital advertising, specifically programmatic with a well established network.
