Django Engineer: small team, real autonomy

Remote · Full-time · Hiring now

We're Senturo! We primarily help US K-12 school districts and other organizations with large device fleets keep their devices secure and provide tools to recover them if they go missing. A TinySeed-backed B2B SaaS serving education customers in 26 states and 8 countries, headquartered in London with a fully remote team. We're looking for a backend engineer to join us and help us ship fast.

Why this role is worth your attention

  • A small team where your work is visible and matters

  • Joint reporting to our CTO (architecture) and COO (product), working alongside our senior backend engineer as a peer

  • A stable, growing, mission-driven business (education)

  • Modern tooling, async culture, and real autonomy

What you'll do

Ship features across our Django backend: automations, reporting, third-party integrations, and work that connects them to the frontend. Contribute to architectural discussions from day one.

What we need from you

  • 3–7 years of professional experience shipping production Django/Python — we care about real production experience, not job titles

  • Strong PostgreSQL — schema, queries, migrations

  • REST API design and third-party integration experience

  • Experience with Celery or similar async task queues

  • Real experience with Claude Code or similar AI coding tools — used as a daily tool on production code, with judgment about where they help and where they don't

  • Comfortable owning features end-to-end without needing close supervision

  • Excellent written communication — we're fully async across time zones (our team currently spans GMT+1 to GMT+8/9)

Bonus: MDM/EdTech/B2B SaaS background.

Compensation and benefits

We'll share the specific salary range on the first call, before you invest serious time.

  • Fully remote position

  • 20 days paid holiday per year, plus your country's public holidays

  • Flexible hours within reasonable team overlap

  • Equipment provided — high-spec laptop

  • Annual learning budget for courses, books, or conferences

  • Paid sick leave
