The controller position will report to the Chief Accounting Officer and will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. This includes the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk. The controller is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
What you'll be doing:
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly and yearly financial statements with full interpretation of financial results
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department to maintain the general ledger
Responsible for AP and AR operations
Crosscheck payroll before processing
Continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes, striving to deliver process automation, improved accuracy and higher customer service
Leverage technology to build scalable/sustainable processes to create efficiencies, streamline accounting operations and improve employee experience
Develop/enhance, implement and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures that will improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the business
Review general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of posting
Supervise, direct, and review the work of the accounting staff
Collaborate with the other department managers to support overall department goals and objectives
Work with external auditors to ensure a clean and timely year end audit
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
What you need to have:
Excellent leadership skills with experience managing a global accounting organization.
CPA Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience
8+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.
Experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller required
Experience with a Big 4 or other national accounting firm preferred
Experience with ERP Implementation preferred
Netsuite experience preferred
