Creative Learning Designer (REMOTE)

Primary Function

The Creative Learning Designer transforms complex business and educational content into engaging, accessible, visually compelling, and learner-centered experiences. This role combines graphic design, visual storytelling, and multimedia expertise to create materials that improve engagement, comprehension, retention, and content delivery.

The designer will partner with subject matter experts, Foundation leadership, and stakeholders to understand objectives and translate content into clear, impactful visual communications that align with organizational branding and strategic goals.

Portfolio is required.

Duration: 6 months

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Transform complex business, strategy, and educational content into clear, engaging visual experiences

  • Design and develop executive PowerPoint presentations, infographics, learning materials, e-learning course layouts, social media content, PDFs, videos, job aids, and other multimedia resources

  • Create learner-centered visual content that simplifies complex concepts and enhances understanding, retention, and application

  • Serve as the subject matter expert to determine the appropriate format, layout, and visual approach for each audience

  • Develop and optimize digital learning assets and multimedia content

  • Create high-quality visual materials independently while incorporating stakeholder feedback and maintaining brand standards

  • Manage multiple projects and shifting priorities while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality

  • Identify opportunities to improve existing materials, design processes, and overall content delivery

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and external creative partners as needed

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong combination of graphic design, visual storytelling, learning design, and multimedia skills

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information visually

  • Advanced presentation design skills, particularly PowerPoint

  • Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, and audience-centered design

  • Ability to translate existing content into polished, visually compelling materials without being the primary content writer

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder consultation skills

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and comfortable managing multiple priorities

  • Ability to work independently while remaining a collaborative, team-oriented partner

  • Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design and multimedia work required

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Learning Design, Instructional Design, Multimedia Design, Digital Media, or related field preferred

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in graphic design, learning design, visual communications, multimedia or a related creative field

  • Experience creating executive presentations, infographics, learning materials, digital learning experiences, and multimedia content

  • Experience working with LMS and e-learning platforms (D2L/Brightspace)

  • Experience in creating materials for both digital and print formats

  • Video editing experience is highly preferred
