The Role: Senior Web Developer

Vanta is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Web Developer to join our growing web team. In this role, you will be a strong individual contributor working within our development team to build, maintain, and improve our company website.

You’ll take ownership of meaningful features and workstreams, contribute actively to technical discussions, and execute complex work with confidence — all within a supportive, collaborative team environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain the company website on a modern headless CMS stack (Next.js, Sanity CMS, Vercel)

  • Take ownership of features and workstreams end-to-end, delivering complex work reliably

  • Collaborate closely with the Technical Lead and contribute thoughtfully to technical discussions

  • Work within and help maintain Sanity CMS content models, schemas, and workflows

  • Integrate the website with product offerings in collaboration with product, marketing, and engineering teams

  • Implement analytics, A/B testing, and tracking systems to assess performance

  • Uphold web performance, accessibility, and SEO best practices (Core Web Vitals, WCAG compliance)

  • Build and integrate third-party services and APIs, including analytics and marketing tools

  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude) to enhance build quality and delivery

  • Share knowledge and support teammates through collaboration and code review

How to Be Successful

  • 3–5 years of web development experience, with hands-on expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks (Next.js preferred)

  • Solid proficiency in Next.js, including App Router, rendering strategies (SSG, ISR, SSR), and Vercel deployment

  • Experience with headless CMS platforms, ideally Sanity CMS (schemas, GROQ queries, structured content)

  • Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, DOM, accessibility, and browser rendering

  • Proven ability to build responsive, cross-browser components for mobile and web

  • Experience building accessible (WCAG), performant (Core Web Vitals), and localization-ready experiences

  • Familiarity with integrating third-party APIs and services into a Next.js stack

  • Comfortable with Tailwind CSS and component-based design systems

  • Skilled with modern developer tooling: TypeScript, CI/CD, Git, component-based workflows

  • Openness to AI-assisted development workflows, using tools responsibly to improve efficiency

  • Collaborative working style with strong communication skills

  • Good problem-solving instincts and attention to detail

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CMS migration or re-platforming projects

  • Familiarity with Webflow for legacy content context

  • Experience with design systems, Figma-to-code workflows, or component libraries

  • Knowledge of SEO/AEO strategy and tooling for marketing-focused web properties
