WordPress Developer with Elementor, ACF & overall Webmaster Skills

We are a white-label WordPress development agency that works with branding & creative firms as their behind-the-scenes technical partner, helping them plan, build & maintain great WordPress websites for their end clients.

In this role you will work directly with the owner/founder at 397digital to support the WordPress development & support requests of our clients.

The primary responsibilities will include a mix of building new WordPress/Elementor websites, as well as supporting existing websites. We typically work with design teams that provide us with approved design assets ready for development.

Need to be available during business hours, with at least 6 hours overlap with our primary business hours of 8am - 5pm CT.

Must be willing to sign NDA as our work is private or “white-labeled” to other agencies. The work we do here is not publicly marketable as ours or yours – it belongs to our clients who are agencies or consultants themselves.

This role is ONLY open to individuals to join our team – we will not hire agencies, staffing firms, or anyone working through another company or organization.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years building WordPress websites, 3+ years using Elementor for custom website builds (not just templates or kits)

  • Ability to build custom Elementor websites from provided designs (Adobe Illustrator, Figma, Sketch or PSD)

  • Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)

  • Custom Post Types (CPT UI)

  • Exporting and optimizing creative assets (images, icons, etc) for website build from provided design files.

  • Understanding of how to best implement design into responsive website

  • Understanding of flexbox and grid to best utilize through Elementor.

Additional skills nice-to-have but not required:

  • UX & overall Design experience. The role is not a design role, but having design knowledge and experience helps in the development process.

  • PHP & WordPress development outside of just using plugins & visual page builders (writing custom snippets, building utility plugins, customizing themes with hooks & actions)

  • Additional CSS experience to write custom CSS where needed.

Your Day to Day work will include:

  • Building custom WordPress websites using Elementor Pro from provided design files (usually Adobe Illustrator, Figma, Sketch or PSD)

  • Installing & setting up our primary WordPress stack for each project (WordPress, Elementor, ACF Pro, Safe SVG)

  • Preparing and exporting assets from Adobe Illustrator, Sketch, Figma or Photoshop. Includes preparing and exporting background images, hero images, vector icons in SVG format.

  • Reviewing and extracting important design and styling information from design files such as Font styles: font family, font size, font weights, colors & spacing.

  • Migrating existing WordPress websites to new hosting environments using different migration methods & tools in our workflow: WP Migrate Pro, WPEngine Migration Plugin (powered by Blogvault)

  • Debugging plugin updates & conflicts, using Query Monitor and reviewing error logs.

  • Researching, suggesting & installing plugins to solve for certain needs.

Our Processes & Communication

  • Depending on your interview & resume, you may be asked to complete a paid test project to showcase your experience.
