Chief Medical Officer (North America)

About us

At Ada, we envision a world where everyone has access to the healthcare they need. To address one of the biggest challenges facing the world, we pioneered a new form of artificial intelligence, combining medical knowledge with intelligent technology to empower millions of people to better understand their health. We’re proud to support medical doctors and work with leading health systems and global non-profit organizations. We’re a diversely skilled team representing 50 nationalities, and we’re growing rapidly to achieve our global ambitions for the future of healthcare. This is just the beginning.

About the role

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a senior physician with extensive experience in primary care (and/or emergency care) to join us in a newly created Chief Medical Officer (North America) position.  You will have a deep interest and demonstrated experience in the use of healthcare technology, including software and AI, to improve the delivery of care. In this role you will act as senior medical representative for Ada within the U.S. and Canadian markets and will work closely with our commercial, medical affairs, product and marketing teams to further strengthen and grow our market position. We welcome part-time applicants (preferred minimum 2 days per week) who plan to combine the role with continuing part-time clinical practice or holding other senior positions in healthcare delivery, technology or policy.

What you’ll do

  • You will be a trusted partner to our commercial and medical affairs teams,  bridging the gap between commercial and medical and acting as the senior point of contact for clinical leaders within the health systems, plans and pharmaceutical companies with whom we partner across North America.

  • Provide medical expertise and guidance across all touchpoints of the client sales lifecycle, supporting our partners to get the most from Ada’s products and ultimately to deliver the best possible service for Ada users - both patients and physicians.

  • Utilize your network of digital health innovators and medical leaders within health systems/health plans to enhance Ada’s commercial presence across North America.

  • Foster relationships with healthcare institutions, professional organizations and key opinion leaders; represent Ada Health at industry conferences and events, showcasing our commitment to advancing healthcare through innovative technology.

  • Act as a spokesperson for Ada Health in North America, participating in media interviews, webinars, and other public forums to share insights on digital health and medical innovation.

  • Stay abreast of industry developments and build strong relationships with relevant organizations and groups across the AI, healthcare technology, clinical and regulatory spaces, ensuring Ada is well placed to participate, contribute and act upon insights.

  • Provide medical leadership and strategic guidance to ensure the alignment of Ada Health's products and services with the highest standards of medical accuracy and relevance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate medical insights into product development, ensuring a user-centric and evidence-based approach.

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive U.S. based MD career, ideally in primary care or having led an emergency room/urgent care center, with a passion to continue practicing medicine and/or other healthcare leadership responsibilities alongside your CMO responsibilities. Additional experience within or knowledge of the Canadian health system is beneficial but not essential.

  • Significant digital experience in some sort of healthcare innovation capacity, ideally AI or digital health tools.

  • Experience serving as a spokesperson for healthcare organizations, participating in media interviews, webinars, conferences and commercial meetings (a willingness to travel as needed across the U.S. is essential).

  • Strong commercial facing background; demonstrated success in fostering collaborations with healthcare institutions, professional organizations and key opinion leaders to further an organization's commercial presence.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in the healthcare industry.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex medical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Previous experience as a CMO or CMIO within the digital health space would be advantageous but is not essential.

  • Experience in a research capacity, in particular with exposure to the pharmaceutical industry or medical affairs within big pharma/biotech, would be advantageous.
