DevOps Engineer (Bilingual)

Veriforce is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join its software development team and play a key role in the deployment, monitoring, and operation of our applications on core production systems, which serve tens of thousands of customers.

Your work will have a direct impact on user experience, customer satisfaction, and business growth. We operate in an agile environment and use modern tools such as AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Ansible. The ideal candidate will be experienced, organized, positive, motivated, and a strong team player.

This requirement is necessary because, as part of this role, you will have to interact with clients, partners and/or our international subsidiaries on a recurring basis, both orally and in writing.

What does this mean on a day-to-day basis?

  • Provide technical expertise and thought leadership in collaboration with the Architecture and Engineering teams.

  • Design, implement, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for development, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production environments. Ability to leverage AI-powered programming tools (e.g., Copilot).

  • Design, implement and maintain observability and monitoring solutions; ensure system health oversight and take the necessary steps to maintain availability and performance according to SLAs, including participation in the on-call rotation.

  • Design, implement, and maintain continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) systems; advise development teams on strengthening application resilience, operability, and best practices. AI-assisted programming will be used whenever possible.

  • Manage containerized workloads; deploy application servers hosting APIs and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers/clients.

  • Design, implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters with advanced configurations and features.

  • Design, implement and maintain Kafka clusters with advanced configurations and features.

  • Identify points of failure and recommend/implement solutions in the infrastructure.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Expertise in distributed systems: load balancing, data storage, distributed messaging, distributed databases.

  • Proficiency in software configuration management (SCM) tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible or equivalents.

  • Expertise in cloud platforms, primarily AWS.

  • In-depth knowledge of AWS PaaS tools: ECS, EKS, EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, WAF, Parameter Store, SNS, SQS, SES, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudFront, etc.

  • Proficiency in automated deployment methodologies supporting CI/CD/CM via Git, Jenkins or GitHub Actions (preferred).

  • Experience in infrastructure management via IaC, with use of AI assistants (e.g., Copilot) highly valued.

  • Experience with version control systems (GitHub, Bitbucket) and IaC collaborative tools.

  • Experience in configuring and administering Kubernetes clusters using advanced features: non-standard networking, storage classes/claims, namespaces, multiple node groups.

  • Experience in configuring and administering Kafka clusters including setting up disaster recovery mechanisms, preventing data loss, and defining topic configurations adapted to variable and demanding workloads.

  • Good command of Windows and Linux systems.

  • Prior experience in application development, particularly SaaS and web.

  • Solid knowledge of IP networking: TCP, UDP, firewalls, SSL.

  • Understanding of the principles of software engineering and design: design patterns, architectures, CAP theorem, event-driven architecture, etc.

  • A strong sense of security at all levels, respect for the principle of least privilege.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to approach and describe problems in a structured manner and to propose reliable solutions.
