Senior Accountant

THE ROLE:

Athletic Greens (AG) is growing tremendously and as a result we seek a self-motivated, detail-oriented, ambitious Senior Accountant to join the accounting team. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Accounting and will be working in a fast-paced environment that offers an opportunity to grow and gain exposure to several different areas of accounting. The ideal candidate is someone who is a strong team player, analytical, detail-oriented and excited to work in a high-growth, dynamic environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Monthly Responsibilities:

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and post adjustments as needed.

  • Create manual journal entries (accruals): Bank charges, credit card fees, staff expenses, prepaid schedules, payroll expenses, prepare and post other recurring journal entries (audit and legal, etc), update fixed asset file & record depreciation expense.

  • Post intercompany journal entries, intercompany inventory sales and inventory transfers such that intercompany accounts eliminate appropriately.

  • Reconcile intercompany P&L and B&S accounts for proper elimination.

  • Record revenue entries - reconciling cash, undeposited funds (accounts receivable), and deferred revenue (shipped not billed account).

  • Perform expense tracking analysis - accrue expenses.

  • Coordinate with auditors for timely and accurate completion of all audits.

Weekly Responsibilities:

  • Review coding of AP invoices entered in Tipalti and Netsuite.

  • Manage and track/enter employee expenses, and credit card expenses.

  • Review and post bank account activity (cash receipts / payments).

  • Assist with cash management activities including cash forecasting and AP payment process.

Project-Based Responsibilities:

  • Keep accurate files on corporate vendors across all departments.

  • Assist with preparation of tax returns by providing information to external tax providers as requested.

  • Working with the other departments to ensure invoicing and change orders are processed accurately.

  • Additional ad hoc finance and budgeting tasks.

  • Support the accounting team with ad hoc projects and assignments as necessary, to drive outcomes for the team and for the business.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 4-6 years of Accounting experience - can be a mix of public accounting and private industry experience.

  • CPA preferred - or currently pursuing CPA.

  • Masters degree or Bachelor's degree in accounting.

  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP and ability to execute and lead the day to day accounting and reporting function in accordance with GAAP.

  • Strong communication skills, and the

  • High level of attention to detail with desire to take ownership in a results oriented environment

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure financial transactions, records and reporting are accurate and timely.

  • Ability to work cross functionally team members in a remote first environment, including team members in varying geographical locations

  • A no-compromises approach to the quality of work and a team player

  • Strong ownership and accountability, with demonstrated experience supporting teams to drive results beyond one’s day-to-day responsibilities.

AG is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is $67,000 - $85,000 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role. Base salary is one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles.
