Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Accounting Specialist.

If you’re the kind of person who loves finance, bookkeeping, accounting, takes pride in making sure procedures are followed, as well as providing our customers and partners with an excellent experience, we would love to talk to you.

You will be responsible for working within accounts receivable, accounts payable, handling books, and managing cargo and insurance claims.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounts Receivable

   • Provide set up instructions to new customers

   • Handle invoice changes

2. Accounts Payable

   • Making sure our accounts with carriers are up-to-date

   • Understanding freight billing, and auditing and correcting incorrect bills

3. Bookkeeping

   • We use Xero as our accounting/bookkeeping platform

4. Cargo Claims

   • Working with customers and carriers on cargo claims

5. Cargo Insurance

   • Booking insurance

   • Making insurance claims on behalf of our customers

6. Management Reports

We don’t expect you to have experience in everything. We just ask that you are eager to learn. We’ll make sure you have the support to learn new skills and get up to speed quickly.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal English skills.

• Bookkeeping and/or accountancy training

• Experience with Xero

• Ideally knowledge of freight or logistics industry

• Strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Demonstrated patience and confidence when dealing with challenging situations.

• High emotional intelligence, innate curiousity in others, and a desire to help

• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

• Proficiency in using computer systems and software.
