Senior Accounting Manager (Multi Entity ) - $60,000 USD / Year (Full Time)
Are you tired of using your skills to simply count profit for organizations with hollow ambitions? What if your financial expertise could be the engine that funds human flourishing?
About Us: We are a family of four organizations (Proscape Landscaping, Austin Pool Pros, a strategic consulting firm, and a non-profit foundation) based in Austin, TX. While we are in the business of cutting grass and cleaning pools, these businesses are simply the vehicle for a larger vision.
We exist to generate resources that fund non-profit work enabling human flourishing. We are seeking top-tier talent who thrives on working hard and delivering exceptional results. We want professionals who view excellence as a form of stewardship—knowing that our commercial success is the engine that funds our non-profit’s mission to serve others.
We are long-term builders who believe that how we do business matters as much as what we do. We operate by the Golden Rule—treating our employees, vendors, and customers exactly how we want to be treated. We don’t just want to satisfy our customers; we want to delight them with superior service and high value.
Reports To: CEO & Board
Direct Reports: Accounting Assistant
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid/Remote options available)
Entities Managed: Proscape, Austin Pool Pros, Consulting Firm, Non-Profit Foundation
The Role: We are looking for a high-capacity operational finance leader to centralize and professionalize the financial operations of our four entities. We have a "minion" for data entry and an Owner who acts as the Controller (signing checks and making high-level capital allocation decisions). We need the bridge between the two: a leader who ensures our data is flawless, our systems are unified, and our cash flow forecasting is reality-based.
You will not just be "keeping the books"; you will be building the "financial engine" that powers our mission.
The Mission: Your goal is to give the owners total confidence in the numbers across all organizations. We do not want to hold a weekly meeting to "review the numbers." We want a weekly email that is so accurate we can run the businesses off it without asking a single question.
Key Responsibilities:
Multi-Entity Command: Implement and maintain a unified chart of accounts and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all 4 entities (3 for-profit, 1 non-profit).
Own the 13-Week Cash Flow: You will own the master cash flow model for the group. You must be able to forecast liquidity needs for capital-intensive projects (pools/landscaping) vs. the steady state of the consulting firm.
The "Weekly Truth" Report: Every Friday, you will deliver a consolidated report containing:
13-Week Cash Flow vs. Actuals.
Aged AR with an action plan for collections.
Budget vs. Actuals for the month.
Manage the Team: Oversee the Accounting Assistant to ensure AP/AR, COIs, and W9s are processed timely and accurately.
Revenue Logic & Job Costing: Deeply understand our recurring maintenance contracts and construction milestones. Ensure revenue is recognized correctly in accordance with our contracts.
Non-Profit Compliance: Ensure the non-profit’s books are audit-ready and compliant with specific fund accounting standards.
Process Enforcement: The Owner releases the funds, but you ensure the request is valid before it gets to him.
Who You Are:
You are a Stewardship-Minded Leader: You understand that every dollar saved or optimized is a dollar that can go toward our mission of human flourishing.
You are an Architect: You don't just use QuickBooks; you understand how the integrations with Gusto, Aspire, and When I Work flow into it, and you can fix them when they break.
You have "Extreme Ownership": If the cash flow projection is off, you don't blame the market or the software; you fix the model.
Requirements:
US GAAP Expertise: Must have 5+ Years US GAAP Experience. You must have significant experience managing books for US companies. You understand the difference between Cash and Accrual basis and how to handle US construction revenue recognition.
Schedule: You must be available to work during US Central Time (CST) business hours to collaborate with the owners and operations team.
Communication: Flawless written and spoken English is non-negotiable. You must be comfortable pushing back and asking clarifying questions.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of experience in accounting, with specific experience managing multiple entities simultaneously.
Tools: We use Hubstaff for all remote team members to track time and activity. We love this tool because it generates awesome data for you (think of it like a "Fitbit for your work"), helping you optimize your productivity while ensuring transparency across the organization.
Experience with Job Costing (construction/service) and Non-Profit accounting is highly preferred.
Tech Stack: Expert in QuickBooks Online, Google Spreadsheets (Modeling), and integrations (Aspire/Gusto).
Don't let this one get away.
