 Job Description:

Benefitfocus is hiring Product Business Analyst's who will be responsible for understanding business use cases, creating requirements for the development team, working with scrum teams throughout the build and rollout to the operational teams of new technology solutions.  Qualified candidates for this role will bring deep experience in Health and Welfare Benefits Administration, understand and be comfortable working in an iterative technology environment, have experience leading large projects, and demonstrated ability of leading teams through change.

 Responsibilities:

  • Defining and documenting requirements based on platform needs (new data model is being implemented).

  • Defining and maintaining one or more technology Products.

  • Prioritization of a development team backlog for aligned Product(s).

  • Drafting requirements for the development team.

  • Partnering with the development and Operations team leadership to deliver Product(s).

  • Working with internal business partners to understand gaps in current technology and designing solutions to meet the operational needs of the business.

  • Working with technology, operations, client and call center teams to roll out and adopt new product offerings.

  • Additional responsibilities, as required.

 Experience and Skills:

  • Preferred 5+ years in the Benefits Administration space with strong domain and systems knowledge in the health space.

  • Preferred minimum of 2 years working as a Product owner in an Agile shop.

  • Ability to define/establish/draft requirements across business silos to be implemented by the development team.

  • Knowledge of domain health and welfare benefits is encouraged with agile experience.

  • Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders like the business and engineering/architecture partners.

  • Experience working with Jira, which will be used to manage story work and backlog for the team.

  • Organization and strong collaboration skills across a variety of roles including software developers, software architects, business stakeholders, and product managers.

  • Strong verbal and written communication.

  • Experience defining, establishing and rolling out Best Practices to large audiences.

  • Innovative and flexible mindset in development of new products

  • Knowledge of SQL is a plus.

  • Knowledge of interfaces including files and APIs is a plus.
