About the Role
Bluegrass is partnering with an Australian-based client to bring on an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer for a fully remote contract position. This role is hands-on and critical to ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of software products across multiple delivery teams. You’ll own end-to-end manual testing, from early planning and design through to execution and release, playing a key role in maintaining high engineering standards across every deployment. What You’ll Be Doing
Develop, document, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts across multiple applications and systems
Perform comprehensive manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, API, and performance testing
Collaborate closely with Product, Development, and DevOps teams to ensure requirements are fully testable and clearly understood
Identify, log, track, and verify defects through to resolution, ensuring proper re-testing and closure
Provide a strong QA voice during code reviews, highlighting quality and risk considerations
Support the integration of testing into CI/CD pipelines alongside DevOps and Engineering teams
Analyze test results and communicate clear, actionable insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
What You Bring
5+ years of professional software testing experience
Strong manual testing expertise, with the ability to produce clear, well-structured documentation
Proven experience across functional, regression, integration, and API testing
Solid understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies
Hands-on experience working with CI/CD environments
Excellent communication skills—you can translate quality issues into language developers and stakeholders actually understand
Strong problem-solving skills with a sharp eye for detail
Comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced, distributed team, aligned to Australian working hours
