About the Role

Bluegrass is partnering with an Australian-based client to bring on an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer for a fully remote contract position. This role is hands-on and critical to ensuring the quality, stability, and reliability of software products across multiple delivery teams. You’ll own end-to-end manual testing, from early planning and design through to execution and release, playing a key role in maintaining high engineering standards across every deployment. If you’re detail-obsessed, process-driven, and comfortable working closely with developers in an Agile environment, this one’s for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop, document, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts across multiple applications and systems

  • Perform comprehensive manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, API, and performance testing

  • Collaborate closely with Product, Development, and DevOps teams to ensure requirements are fully testable and clearly understood

  • Identify, log, track, and verify defects through to resolution, ensuring proper re-testing and closure

  • Provide a strong QA voice during code reviews, highlighting quality and risk considerations

  • Support the integration of testing into CI/CD pipelines alongside DevOps and Engineering teams

  • Analyze test results and communicate clear, actionable insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies

  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of professional software testing experience

  • Strong manual testing expertise, with the ability to produce clear, well-structured documentation

  • Proven experience across functional, regression, integration, and API testing

  • Solid understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies

  • Hands-on experience working with CI/CD environments

  • Excellent communication skills—you can translate quality issues into language developers and stakeholders actually understand

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a sharp eye for detail

  • Comfortable working remotely in a fast-paced, distributed team, aligned to Australian working hours
