About the role

As a Staff Data Analyst, you will play a vital role in designing comprehensive data models and executing analyses of a variety of data sources that will enable Checkr with actionable insights. You will serve as a data SME and analytical partner to business and dashboard owners, by building a comprehensive knowledge base, artifacts, and data objects that are scalable and shareable across multiple business functions. This role is within our Corporate Engineering organization and will report to the ‘Head of Business Intelligence’. In addition, this role will partner very closely with Checkr’s Financial Planning & Strategy, People team, Data Engineering, and cross-functional business teams to enable their success through technology and insights.

What you’ll do

  • Design robust data models for analytics and BI from a variety of data sources such as ERP, business applications, and external data sources 

  • Reconcile data between various systems, find opportunities to innovate, and optimize Checkr’s comprehensive data view

  • Scope and manage ad hoc analytic projects driven by the needs of the business such as data quality analysis, and other ad hoc analytic projects

  • Help educate coworkers on SQL, data visualization tools, and be an advocate for enhancing Checkr’s data-informed culture

  • Reconcile data between various systems, find opportunities to innovate, and drive improvements

What you bring

  • 6+ years of applied data modeling/ analytics experience, ideally in a fast-paced or start-up environment

  • 6+ years of experience with large complex data sets from various sources

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases

  • Experience with scripting languages like Python or Ruby

  • Experience with BI tools like Looker or Tableau

  • Proven track record of collaboration with a variety of decision-makers to drive impact

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and organizational & project management skills

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. If this role is remote, we have listed the top to the bottom of the possible range, but we will specify the target range for an exact location when you are selected for a recruiting discussion. The salary range for this role is $102,434 to $213,210.
