About You

As a Broadcast Graphics Integrator/Designer, you'll be responsible for coordinating graphics systems for over 200 live shows per year. You'll work closely with our design team to integrate graphics that reflect breaking news, current chess topics, and statistics related to show content. You'll also work with our operator to build graphics and monitor their execution during the show.

To succeed in this role, you'll need to be a wizard of attention to detail, have excellent organization and communication skills, and be able to juggle multiple tasks at once. You'll also need a strong understanding of chess and the community, as well as general broadcast workflows and terminology.

What You’ll Do

The Broadcast Graphics Integrator/Operator will work with our fully remote Broadcast team to help integrate graphics from the design side in to a graphics engine.

You will be responsible for integrating and supporting graphics operating during and leading up to live and pre-recorded broadcasts. The ideal candidate will have experience with industry-standard broadcast graphics software and will be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Develop systems to control and operate graphics alongside the engineering and broadcast operational teams.

  • Develop and implement on-screen graphic elements based on show needs.

  • Work with the operator to build graphics and monitor execution of graphics during the show.

  • Communicate with line and edit producers as well as operators to understand what material is covered in each show and how the graphics need to function.

  • Facilitate communication and exchange of ideas with the Chess.com graphics design team.

  • Coordinate API information alongside the engineering team and manage data points from various services such as google sheets.

  • Manage versioned show files and adapt templated designs in to a production workflow.

  • Strong understanding of the remote workflow in a broadcast setting.

  • Knowledge of general broadcast workflows and terminology.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Basic understanding of on-air graphic systems, especially HTML based graphics engines

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in broadcast graphics integration and operation.

  • Experience in broadcast asset design.

  • Knowledge of GT Titler and vMIX based graphics.

  • Experience using Singular graphics engine.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills working in a fully distributed team.

  • Sense of ownership and responsibility.

  • Understanding of API based information.

  • Some knowledge of JavaScript is a benefit, but not required.
