Staff Accountant

We’re growing and are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to support our financial operations and ensure accuracy in our daily accounting functions.

Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will assist the Controller and finance department with a wide range of accounting tasks, including general ledger reconciliation, financial reporting, and month-end closing procedures. This role requires a high level of accuracy, integrity, and the ability to work independently while supporting dealership operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and reconcile balances

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

• Perform daily cash reconciliations and bank statement reviews

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable entries

• Maintain and reconcile schedules for inventory, fixed assets, and prepaids

• Support payroll processing and benefit tracking as needed

• Assist with audit preparation and compliance reporting

• Work with department managers to resolve accounting discrepancies

• Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and financial reporting

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 1–3 years of accounting experience (automotive dealership experience a plus)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or Dealertrack preferred)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines

• Excellent communication skills and a team-player attitude

• Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in dealership accounting or retail automotive environment

• Familiarity with internal controls and GAAP compliance

• CPA or CPA candidate (not required but a plus)
