Full-Stack Developer (Associate)

DCG Communications (DCG) is seeking a Full-Stack Developer (Associate) to join our team and federal client. At DCG, many of our team members including this role are remote. With over 100 employees based in 23 states (and counting!), DCG is committed to hiring talented employees across the United States. The selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Standard Time business hours. 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for: 

  • Designing websites that are dynamic, responsive, and aesthetically pleasing with an additional emphasis on:  

  • Obtaining current domain site administration logins or setting up host and domain sites 

  • Installing content management systems (CMS), if needed, which include user metrics such as most frequently accessed pages and downloads 

  • Developing wireframes/interactive prototypes 

  • Designing sandbox versions of websites 

  • Testing on various browsers and devices 

  • Deploying sites on requested domains 

  • Creating back-up copies of files associated with websites 

  • Performing ongoing maintenance and training to others for using the CMS 

  • Developing strategic digital/web centric plans. 

  • Creating customizable document logic using the CMS; experience with TeamSite and Drupal a plus. 

  • Responsible for the creation of basic information architecture systems with accompanied wireframes and user interface suggestions leveraging programs such as Sketch, Figma, InVision. 

  • Building web pages using the CMS to ensure standards and consistency are met across all the client's websites. 

  • Ensuring projects are completed to deadlines while making the manager and/or account team aware if deadlines are at risk. 

  • Debugging and correcting cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them. 

  • Utilizing SEO principles and ensuring that applications will adhere to them. 

  • Working with departments to ensure projects are completed to client specifications. 

  • Adhering to section 508 accessibility standards in all development, familiarity with accessibility testing. 

  • Supporting, testing, QA, and debugging website functionality. 

  • Monitoring and recommending improvements to website performance through analysis of the customer experience, conversion effectiveness, abandonment points, customer demographics, and website usability and device trends using Google Analytics software. 

  • Adhering to department-wide style guides during design and development. 

  • Maintaining historical data, in an electronic format, of content, as well as analytical data related to web page usage. 

  • Generating and providing a monthly and quarterly report on the analytical data of websites. 

  • Communicating recommendations, progress, and updates to the team, presenting ideas and fielding questions from the client. 

Position Requirements: 

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience. 

  • Proven experience and knowledge of front-end coding languages such as HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, Bootstrap, jQuery.  

  • Proven experience and knowledge of back-end coding languages such as Java, PHP, Ruby on rails, Python, .Net. 

  • Experience in responsive web coding a must.  

  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. 

  • Proven understanding of marketing concepts and user interfaces. 

  • Knowledge of section 508 accessibility compliance. 

  • A proactive approach to work. 

  • An eye for design. 

  • An approachable personality, excellent team player and willingness to collaborate daily. 

  • Ability to sell the work and quickly pivot and provide actionable solutions. 

  • A willingness to undertake new skills. 

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, motion graphics/video, and web development for Drupal and TeamSite a plus.
