Finance Analyst

ABOUT THE ROLE

Fortis is seeking a Analyst, Finance to help ensure we understand our operations, budget for initiatives that support us growing exponentially, and target efficiencies at global scale. You will be responsible for data integrity, expense and revenue modeling, and advanced analytics to drive the business forward. As a business data expert, you will assist in establishing processes and tools for existing and new data sources. 

 

You will work cross functionally across data teams and partner closely with People Operations, Central Services, Game Teams, and other key stakeholders. This is a critical role with high visibility to the SVP-Finance; reports into the Manager, Global Finance and partners closely with the Senior Administrator, HRIS and Senior Manager, Compensation, in addition to data junkies across the organization.

WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE

  • Load and validate data needed to cultivate a deep understanding of the Fortis business model and have input into major business decisions.

  • Ingest, interpret, analyze, and present information for consumption by senior management; consolidate and present qualitative, quantitative, and unstructured data.

  • Provide expertise in methods and procedures for optimizing data available to decision makers.

  • Support the Global Finance Manager and Head of FP&A in building short- and long-term models in our financial planning system for use by senior management.

  • Plan for projects needed to scale Fortis; support evaluation of potential decisions to determine if they are efficient uses of capital.

  • Ensure vendors are paid on a timely basis for work done; maintain and improve existing financial, workflow, and vendor infrastructure.

  • Provide internal support and rigor to all areas of the Finance organization, including Treasury, Controllership, and FP&A.

  • Grow professionally through tech- and systems-heavy experience where you’ll have the opportunity to help us build a robust, future-focused organization for a global video game company.

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Fundamental understanding and familiarity with standard office tools, including but not limited to Google Workspace (Sheets) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).

  • Outstanding attention to detail.

  • Understanding of basic accounting principles (IFRS or GAAP).

  • Willingness to learn.

  • Good judgment.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including being able to tell a story using numbers.

  • Experience wrangling data (academic/recreational counts).

  • Previous experience loading data into and out of systems from business vendors including but not limited to Workday, Adaptive Insights, SAP Ariba, Snowflake, Looker, and Infor. 

  • Fluency in data languages (SQL and API languages) and structures (XML, JSON).

  • Experience assembling and presenting managerial reporting and performing variance analysis.
