As we continue to grow globally, we are looking for a dedicated Senior Payroll Specialist to support our expanding team across multiple countries.
Role Overview
As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations across all countries where Goodnotes operates. You will collaborate with payroll vendors and Employer of Record (EOR) partners to manage payroll tickets, adjustments, expenses, and invoicing. In addition to day-to-day payroll activities, you will play a key role in the Workday integration project, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration between our payroll processes and Workday.
This is a 1-year fixed-term, remote position in the UK, though the ideal candidate will hold expertise in Spanish / international payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
Oversee and process payroll for all employees across multiple countries
Ensure accuracy and compliance with local laws and company policies
Collaborate with external payroll vendors to run payroll cycles smoothly and on schedule
Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
Preparation of annual tax statements
Vendor & EOR Management
Liaise with payroll vendors to resolve issues and implement process improvements
Work closely with Employer of Record (EOR) partners to manage payroll-related tickets and employee queries
Compensation Adjustments
Support payroll changes related to performance reviews, promotions, and level-up adjustments
Ensure all updates are accurately reflected in payroll cycles and reporting
Expenses & Invoicing
Manage and process employee expense reimbursements
Oversee invoicing related to payroll and EOR services
Partner with Finance to reconcile payroll and invoicing discrepancies
Workday Integration Project
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on the Workday implementation and integration project
Ensure accurate mapping of payroll data and workflows within Workday
Test and validate payroll processes in Workday before go-live
Provide payroll expertise to guide system configuration and process improvements
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure payroll compliance with tax regulations and labor laws in all operating countries
Generate reports for Finance, People Operations, and leadership teams to support decision-making
Qualifications
Required:
Manage end-to-end payroll for a global workforce across multiple countries, with deep expertise in Spanish payroll operations
Hands-on experience working with external payroll vendors and EOR partners
Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, tax laws, and reporting standards
Experience with payroll-related systems or HRIS, with the ability to troubleshoot and support integrations
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred:
Experience working on HRIS implementation or integrations, particularly in payroll or People operations
Previous experience in a fast-growing tech company or startup environment
Familiarity with remote workforce management and global payroll complexities
