The Curriculum Director supervises the development of Imagine Learning Studios core products and applies content knowledge and scientifically backed instructional design principles to create digital instructional materials. This position should have a deep well of expertise in either curricular assessment or instruction and pedagogy.
Position Type: This is a regular, full-time position.
Compensation:
Base pay is anticipated to be between $80,099 and $110,000 per year. Eligible employees may also receive incentive/commission/annual bonus pay based on individual and/or company performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as, but not limited to, individual skills, experience, training, education/certifications, geographic location, internal equity, and local market conditions.
Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote from your home office.
Travel: You can also expect up to approximately 15% travel, so be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.

In this role you’ll have the opportunity to:
Apply subject matter expertise while managing the creation, editing, and reviewing of 6-12 ELA instructional materials in print and digital formats for core curriculum and supporting products.
Possess deep knowledge of standards alignment and reading and writing instruction strategies for middle and high school, including methods to support comprehension, vocabulary development, and critical thinking in adolescent learners.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of current literacy research, particularly the Science of Reading. Apply these principles to curriculum design to improve student outcomes.
Communicate and collaborate within and across functional teams, and with vendors, partners, customers, and independent contractors, to manage projects and address challenges; serve as a project lead as needed and ensure adherence to quality and to project specifications.
Lead and mentor a team, managing resources across projects to meet milestones and ensure pedagogical consistency across our 6-12 core products, understanding how decisions and changes impact other aspects of development, and setting priorities to meet deadlines.
Manage cross-functional relationships with professional development and customer success to support customer needs, deepen product knowledge, and develop stakeholder and customer empathy within the curriculum team SME partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Design in developing curriculum features and informing application features.
Develop curriculum maps, scopes and sequences, and other project content-planning documents.

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:
Bachelor’s degree in education, Instructional Design or related field; master’s degree preferred
A minimum of 10 years in educational publishing, technology development, instructional design, curriculum development or classroom teaching experience; or an acceptable combination of teaching and publishing experience.
Possess deep knowledge of standards alignment and reading and writing instruction strategies for middle and high school, including methods to support comprehension, vocabulary development, and critical thinking in adolescent learners.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of current literacy research, particularly the Science of Reading. Apply these principles to curriculum design to improve student outcomes.
Teaching experience required.
Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills; self-directed and able to handle multiple priorities with demanding time frames.
Passion for learning and teaching 6-12 ELA with a track record of learning new skills and adapting to change.
Proven ability to collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
Available to travel up to 15%.
Passionate about creating engaging and effective learning products.
Strong computer skills, including Slack, Smartsheet, Zoom, MS Office and G-Suite products.
