Job Description

Team Leadership

  • Manages an in-house creative team (5+) to deliver creative assets and projects on time and on brand. Also manages external agencies/freelance designers.

  • Conducts regular one-on-one sessions with each team member to build successful working relationships and create a culture that allows the team to fulfill its potential.

  • Establishes and proactively refines project workflows to ensure projects are clearly understood and delivered on time.

  • Provides clear, specific, and timely feedback to team members.

  • Conducts goals development, mid-year and annual reviews, and other required People Manager responsibilities as set forth by HR, the Director, Brand Marketing, or other leaders within Marketing.

Creative Direction

  • Serves as a key point of contact for design reviews or coordinates appropriate review with Director, Brand Marketing and Creative, VP, Corporate Marketing, or other senior leaders.

  • Models design process best practices for the Creative Team and provides guidance to support skills development.

  • Leads marquee project creative kick-offs to ensure inter-team and cross-functional alignment ahead of projects starting; manage interim checkpoints as necessary.

  • Leads creative audits and other special review assignments as required.

  • Guides Designers on best practices and constructively critiques work regularly to support team growth across all types of creative outputs (print, digital, events, social media, videos, etc.)

Brand Stewardship

  • Serves as a key point of contact for creative brand compliance reviews.

  • Demonstrates deep understanding of Brand Guidelines and the brand to think critically and apply brand knowledge and rationale to a variety of projects (print, digital, events, social media, videos, etc.)

Design Services

  • Provides consultative design services to departments outside of Marketing in support of broader brand consistency across the organization.

Within first 6-12 months you will:

  • Demonstrate success as a strong team manager, project leader and clear, cross-functional communicator.

  • Fully understand brand guidelines and have proactively brought forward recommendations and innovations for creative processes, tools, and design.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant course work

  • Minimum 10+ years graphic design experience at a senior or creative director level, with at least 2 years managing a creative team daily in a high-volume SaaS or agency environment.

  • Proven creative team leader who can successfully navigate competing priorities between creative leadership and people management.

  • Offers diverse portfolio demonstrating samples of exciting graphic design assets across asset types, with strong understanding of messaging hierarchy.

  • Expert level proficiency in InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and PowerPoint and Word to support the larger organizational templating needs. Figma, Adobe Premier, and After Effects a plus.

  • Strong understanding of the design process and project dependencies; experienced in the Wrike project management system is a plus.

  • Experience with web design, Material Design Standards, and UX/UI best practices and considerations.

  • Demonstrated success in a corporate marketing or similar high-volume and fast-paced environment.

  • Clear, proactive communicator with strong people skills and ability to build relationships across the business, at all levels including senior leadership.

  • B2B technology, SaaS, or financial services experience strongly preferred.
