Senior VFX Artist

People are what make games great! Magic Media is currently seeking a Senior Unity VFX Artist to help our team on their next adventure. The ideal candidate enjoys putting their skills and knowledge to use in a variety of styles. Your broader experience in game development and the animation pipeline will help you work collaboratively with designers, concept artists, technical artists, and 3D artists to create an immersive and epic experience.

Skills

  • Takes on responsibility & ownership in pushing the quality of their craft and in self-development, fluent in the principles of animation &  VFX creation

  • Deep Awareness and aptitude of art fundamentals, color, shape timing etc

  • Strong Knowledge of visual composition and solid animation fundamentals

  • Fluent work on particles and other visual effects for 3D and 2D games inside Unity or Unreal 

  • Able to independently and creatively solve VFX technical challenges 

  • Adopt and enforce cutting edge technologies

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in the video game industry in a similar role

  • Have a solid portfolio/reel 

  • Great communication skills

  • Extensive experience in game engines (Unity, Unreal)

  • Fluent in English

  • A passion for video games

Tools

  • Unity and / or Unreal

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, After effects, Animate)

  • Substance designer

  • 3Ds max, Maya or Blender

Desirable pluses

  • Basic programming skills in c# and or blueprints 

  • Shader creation via code or authoring tool (Shadergraph, Amplify) 

  • Fluid, Pyro and RBD simulations skills (Houdini, Embergen, Blender)

  • 2D drawing skills
