Marketing Manager

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Marketing Manager is responsible for crafting a visible, effective presence for Mozilla and our work. Duties include the creation and execution of a strategic, goal-based, data-centric marketing plan to promote our brand identity, to help drive interest and collaboration with our work, and to expand outreach to target audiences using a wide variety of mechanisms.

The successful candidate is highly organized, creative, opportunistic, a self-starter — and most of all, ready to attract and engage key people around impactful collaborations with Mozilla! Those who excel in this role are quick learners who are able to generate high-quality materials for both on and offline use, and adept marketers able to reach targeted audiences.

As Marketing Manager at Mozilla, you will…

Strategy development

  • Build and implement a comprehensive marketing plan using current trends, approaches, and tools to meet our Trustworthy AI goals

  • Measure the effectiveness of the marketing strategies and update/refine plans as needed

  • Develop and manage spending against strategic goals and efficiency measures

  • Lead audience research work

  • Coordinate marketing work with the communications team

Marketing & brand building

  • Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term organizational goals, identifying and implementing improvements for processes and content

  • Develop and implement audience-specific marketing plans, collateral materials, online and offline events, and engagement opportunities that elevate Mozilla’s visibility and activities among key audiences including tech developers, tech investors, and tech + policy thought leaders globally.

  • Manage marketing campaigns, coordinating marketing plans, media campaigns, and various assets, while working closely with internal collaborators and external partners.

  • Plan, develop, and approve paid advertising, polls, and sponsorships to effectively reach key audiences

  • Work closely with both internal and external content creators to develop campaign assets such as video and static images

  • Manage internal approvals processes for creative production of advertising and branding to develop communication and brand consistency across all user touch points.

  • Manage day-to-day project priorities and execution of marketing initiatives; tracking team tasks, resources, deliverables and deadlines

Your professional profile

  • 7+ years experience in marketing or a similar role

  • Supervisory experience: hiring, training, evaluating and mentoring staff. Experience promoting a positive work environment

  • Experience with research using website and marketing analytics tools

  • Experience with SEO, Paid Search and Google Ad Grants

  • Experience with social media channels like Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram

  • Ability to utilise analytics, insights and reporting to make more informed decisions

  • Capable of developing marketing plans for a global audience.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment

  • Ability to collaborate internally and externally

  • Works well independently as well as across various levels and functions to succeed in a highly collaborative

  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills

  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills

Salary and benefits information

The Mozilla Foundation is dedicated to fair and equitable compensation for our staff. We aim to pay a competitive and market-based salary based on the responsibilities and requirements of the role. We aim to offer at the midpoint of our salary ranges for the purposes of increasing inclusivity and fairness of our offer process and ensuring internal equity. We do not ask for, or take into account, salary histories in our offer process.

The base salary ranges, and the mid-point, for this role is listed below. We target the 75th percentile of market pay as a salary band midpoint for all levels, with 10% either side of the midpoint to create a salary range.These four countries are where we most commonly employ staff.

  • Germany: €77,973 - €95,300 (mid-point: €86,637)

  • UK: £46,884 - £57,302 (mid-point: £52,093)

  • Canada: $89,666 - $109,591 (mid-point: $99,629)

  • US: $84,308 - $103,043 (mid-point: $93,675)

Depending on the successful candidate’s location, we may also add in a geographic differential to this base salary that accounts for local job market weighting. This differential is applied to the above ranges depending on the successful candidate’s location. Below are some of the common cities in which we hire staff along with representative examples of salary ranges, along with mid-point, with the geographical differential applied:

  • Inner London: £51,103 - £62,459 (mid-point: £56,781)

  • Toronto: $96,749 - $118,249 (mid-point: $107,499)

  • New York: $93,412 - $114,171 (mid-point: $103,791)
