About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Mid-Level QA Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software testing, with a focus on automation. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts for web applications, APIs, and mobile applications. Proficiency in tools such as Cypress, Postman, and Appium is essential for this role, as well as familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including services like EC2, ECS, and CloudWatch.

Key Responsibilities

Test Automation Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress for web applications, Postman for API testing, and Appium for mobile applications.

  • Ensure test scripts are robust, maintainable, and scalable.

Test Strategy and Planning:

  • Collaborate with the development teams to define test strategies, test plans, and test cases.

  • Participate in test case reviews and provide input on testability and test coverage.

Test Execution:

  • Execute automated test scripts to validate software functionality and performance.

  • Identify and report defects, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

Continuous Integration and DevOps:

  • Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration (CI) pipeline to enable automated testing throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Work with the development team to refine DevOps strategies to ensure seamless test automation integration with AWS services.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Create detailed test reports and document test results.

  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of automated test scripts and processes.

Test Environment Setup:

  • Assist in configuring and maintaining test environments, ensuring they are representative of production environments, which may include AWS infrastructure.

Regression Testing:

  • Perform regression testing to ensure that new software releases do not introduce new defects or negatively impact existing functionality.

Automation Best Practices:

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and trends in automation testing and incorporate them into our processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer, with a focus on automation testing.

  • Proficiency in automated testing tools, especially Cypress, Postman, and Appium.

  • Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, ECS, and CloudWatch.

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Node.js.

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Knowledge of test management and defect tracking tools.

  • Understanding of software testing methodologies, test levels, and test types.

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ISTQB or other relevant certifications

  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter) and security testing tools

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
