
Property Management Accountant
Position Overview:
The BackOffice Property Management Accountant is responsible for providing bookkeeping and training to franchise owners using the software AppFolio. BackOffice helps franchise owners navigate their way through the complex nature of property management and trust accounting, allowing them to focus on the growth and profitability of their businesses. Our mission is to help franchisees succeed by removing the burden of hiring and training staff to perform critical bookkeeping and accounting functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Operate as the lead point of contact for all financial matters specific to your franchisees.
Train and support franchise owners and staff in industry software (AppFolio), accounting practices and procedures 50-60% of the time.
Process check runs for assigned accounts three times/month or as circumstances require.
Complete monthly trust account balancing.
Prepare/review and assist with bank account reconciliations.
Analyze financial information detailing income, expenses, assets, and liabilities and prepare a balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize the current and projected company financial position.
Submit financial data in the Royalty Submission Tool.
Help with Bookkeeper support tasks as franchise load permits.
Provide feedback for and participate in continuous improvement of procedures and processes.
Perform other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than their own.

Education & Experience:
Associates degree in Accounting or General Business is required
Bachelor’s degree is preferred
2 – 3 years of experience in property management accounting
Expertise with softwares such as; AppFolio, Propertyware, or other Property Management is a plus
Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications – emphasis on Excel, Outlook and TEAMS is required
Understand and apply generally accepted accounting principles within the business environment.
