Staff Accountant

POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance Team. As a member of our team, you'll be essential to driving the efficiency and effectiveness in Order to Cash operations. Reporting to one of the Shared Services Managers, you will help design and execute best practices to support our rapid growth. This role will play a critical role in system, process, and reporting optimization and/or projects.

Shared Service functions are the foundation for the company’s financials. The Staff Accountant will initially be assigned to billing activities and strategic billing projects and analytics but will have the longer-term opportunity to move across various functional areas. This role will gain a solid understanding of the business units, our go to markets strategies, and the relationships of our data, systems, and processes. The Staff Accountant will drive strategic activities, reconciliations, analytics, and customers engagements. The ideal candidate is a highly detailed professional who doesn’t mind handling numerous issues at the same time, has a passion for finding solutions to complex problems, has excellent math and excel skills, and respects deadlines. This individual must possess a high level of integrity.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred

  • Minimum 4 years professional experience required

  • Ability to take full ownership of various entry level accounting functions

  • Eagerness to work in a dynamic, high growth, and fast-paced environment

  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks; strong organizational and time management skills required

  • Forward thinker, ability to complete work assignments with minimal supervision

  • Must have strong collaborative communications skills to work with both internal and external partners

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics FO, NetSuite, Salesforce preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT MAY INCLUDE

  • Applying strategic thinking and analytical acumen to a variety of shared services functional areas such as Billing, Accounts Receivable, Treasury & Cash Application, Accounts Payable, departmental projects, development and maintenance of KPIs, month end close entries, or ad hoc reporting

  • Evaluating process and data sets and make informed recommendations for improvement

  • Support projects and related analytics of varying nature

  • Being a versatile team player that can perform various tasks ranging from routine close procedures to ad-hoc projects or analytics, and account flux analysis

  • Liaising with commercial product teams and FP&A to promote results-driven decision making

  • Fielding various audit requests where appropriate

  • Supporting compliance deliverables in conjunction with process owner

  • Flexing between initiatives as needed in a high growth fast paced environment

  • Supporting activities in one or more functional areas at a time

  • Billing/ AR:

    • Supporting our international billing and AR functions as needed

    • Support of various billing or AR activities as need to ensure departmental goals are met and timely recognition of revenue

    • Completing aging analytics and pursue collection of open accounts receivable within area of responsibility to meet or exceed corporate goals and specified metrics

    • Reconciliation of various accounts

    • Resolution of customer or internal partner inquiries

    • Distributing credit card, bank, and payment forms/instructions to customers

  • Treasury:

    • Supporting Treasury Manager with various ad hoc analytics and process improvement initiatives

    • Managing cash related activities such as cash applications and forecasting

  • Accounts Payable:

    • Developing accounts payable weekly payment run reports

    • Partnering with vendors as needed

    • New vendor account audit and creation

    • Supporting system enhancement evaluations

  • Accounting

    • Supporting month end close entries and reconciliations

    • Support KPI measurement inputs

    • Complete flux analysis

    • Variance analysis

The base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000 USD per year commensurate with work location, experience, skills, certifications, education, and prior accomplishments.

The position may be eligible for additional compensation, including a bonus, commission and/or equity, as applicable.
