Head of Finance

Primer is looking for a Head of Finance / CFO, reporting to our co-founders and supporting business growth globally. You'll take on any challenge thrown your way to make this happen. You'll have scaled finance and accounting teams in a high growth environment, and be seasoned and strategic. You'll bring passion, enthusiasm, energy and honesty into the role.

What will the role involve?

  • Prepare and maintain operating budgets, accounting and manage the cash flow of the company, ensuring it has the appropriate treasury controls

  • Design, implement and oversee a comprehensive financial strategy to support business growth goals, and regulatory requirements, ensuring all accounting activities comply with financial regulations

  • Responsible for end to end leadership of the finance function, including full P&L accountability

  • Communicate effectively as a key member of the senior leadership team, actively managing collaterals for the founders, the Board and external investors

  • Help to assess and evaluate strategic growth opportunities for the business

  • Create and own financial and tax strategy

  • Oversight of budgeting activities and collaborating with cross-functionals on revenue forecasting and planning cycles within the organization

  • Work with external accountants, financial auditors to ensure smooth completion of company audits

  • Ensure legal compliance on all financial functions

  • Evaluate, design and manage infrastructure of finance tools and reporting capabilities

What are we looking for?

  • Extensive and proven experience in finance leadership roles (ideally in rapidly scaling organizations), experience within fintech or payment is a distinct advantage

  • Fully qualified in any of the following relevant certifications - CFA/CPA/ACA/ACCA

  • Strong generalist with P&L accountability for over £100m turnover

  • Highly commercial individual with credibility at Board level

  • Track record of building and leading high performing finance/accounting functions

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills at all levels of the business

  • High-level of integrity, initiative, perseverance and leadership skills

  • Experienced in managing early and late fundraising rounds

  • Previous experience with cross-border expansion and M&A activity is highly desirable
