As a Principal Product Designer, you’ll be at the center of building a new kind of marketplace. Design end-to-end experiences that help our members find the perfect product and drive shopping recommendations based on interests. Help small businesses optimize their experience and reach new customers. From user research to interaction and visual design, we're looking for a talented Product Design Director who can balance user context with business goals in service of a quality shopping experience. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Go deep with our users to understand the language they use and the context that causes them to hire PublicSq.

  • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to build a quality user experience that drives user and business outcomes.

  • Balance big picture strategic thinking with attention to detail in execution. Propose contrasting approaches to address a problem based on the associated appetite.

  • Share your work with and gather feedback from users, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership.

  • Create patterns for easy, consistent implementation within and across platforms.

  • Communicate consistently throughout the creative process, surfacing challenges and tradeoffs to support overall progress.

  • Evangelize UX best practices with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as a product designer with experience mentoring other designers and building out design processes.

  • Portfolio includes experience with consumer digital at scale. Marketplace or shopping experience a plus: search, browse, checkout, and loyalty.

  • Experience with Figma, Photoshop, and related design tools. Motion design a plus.

  • Built prototypes in Figma

  • Detail oriented and able to create the necessary assets and annotations for engineers. Design systems experience a plus.

  • Leverages analytics and user research to build the right experiences. Formative research, quantitative research, and user testing.

  • Command of Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and Google’s Material Design.

  • Alignment to company mission and values.
