Content Marketing Lead (Fractional) at Rec Technologies
About Rec
At Rec (rec.us) , we’re reimagining how the world plays, trains, competes, explores and gets outside. Our mission is to empower the entire recreation community to thrive, and our vision is bold: power recreation worldwide.
Booking a tennis court? Signing your kid up for swim lessons? Trying to find an open rec league? It shouldn’t feel like filing your taxes. We're partnering with parks & rec departments, golf courses, campgrounds, gyms and more to transform a $105B industry stuck in the Stone Age.
We’re not just putting recreation online—we’re redesigning it from the ground up, for the mobile-first, AI-powered world we live in.
And about AI? From simplifying registration flows to auto-scheduling entire recreation departments to empowering parks & rec staff to utilize the data to make their programming better, we use AI where it makes a real impact. We’re builders at heart, using the best tools to solve real problems for real communities.
If you get fired up by making tech that actually matters—to families, coaches, and kids all over the country—come join us.
Who We Are
We’re a small team with outsized ambition. We’ve built products and led teams at places like Google, Amazon, Uber Eats, MasterClass, The Athletic and more. Now we’re channeling all that energy into something fresh—and fun.
We care about how we build, not just what. Our culture is fast, focused, and full of pride. We keep our standards high, our egos low, and our Slack memes spicy.
Our Values:
Be Relentless. Move fast. Own it. Ship real value early and often.
Win Together. Speak up, go beyond the boundaries of your role. That's how we win.
Take Pride. Treat this like it’s yours—because it is.
About The Role
Rec is rewriting the playbook for how parks and recreation departments connect with their communities—and storytelling is our secret weapon. We need a strategic, hands-on Content Marketing Lead (fractional) to own the narrative and make sure every rec department in the U.S. knows exactly who we are, what we do, and why it matters.
What You’ll Do
Own our content engine end-to-end—product messaging, sales enablement, social campaigns, paid media—you name it.
Craft razor-sharp messaging that clicks with parks staff, city leaders, and community members.
Lead GTM content for launches, campaigns, and cross-channel promos (email, social, ads).
Partner with Sales to build killer enablement tools—pitch decks, case studies, one-pagers that close deals.
Run Rec’s social channels—tell stories that engage, grow, and amplify our brand.
Scale paid ads with the design team and optimize performance like a pro.
Own content ops—editorial calendars, data-driven tracking, and leveraging AI to fuel smart growth.
What We're Looking For
5+ years crushing B2B SaaS content, product, or growth marketing with measurable pipeline impact.
A storytelling ninja with a killer portfolio and creative instincts. Bonus points if you can also design or edit video.
Built sales enablement that actually moves the needle.
Self-driven, ruthless at prioritizing, and thrives in scrappy, fast-moving teams.
Bonus if you know govtech, public sector, or recreation—and want to make a difference there.
Pay & Benefits
Compensation: This is a part-time, fractional role (10–20 hours/week to start) with room to grow as we scale. We're looking to structure this as a monthly retainer and compensation will depend on experience.
Work location: We are focused on hiring a team that will join us at our downtown San Francisco office.
Ready to build something real? Something fun? Something big?
We’re ready for you.
