Role Overview:

The Product Designer works to understand the user needs and the business strategy, then uses that knowledge and experience to develop workflows, wireframes, mock-ups, and assets for product improvements that help users and the larger strategy. The role works closely with stakeholders, developers, researchers, and product managers in an agile environment to advocate for experience enhancements, build out the prioritized concepts and launch great features and improvements to the product that make a difference to the user and business.

Where You're Located:

Candidates for this role will be based in the United States and work remotely.

Requirements

  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product managers, other designers, developers, and customers to plan out great solutions to customer and business needs for both small and large-scale projects and design initiatives. 

  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision and direction. 

  • Create wireframes and mock-up concepts that meet the customer and business needs, gather feedback on various concept directions and iterate as needed. 

  • Create pixel-perfect mock-ups, icons, and assets to be used for development.

  • Work closely with product managers, developers, and test engineers on those final designs with discussions around implementation, scope tradeoffs, and UX nuance, in an agile (Scrum) framework.

  • Inform research and testing of product and design ideas.

  • Ensure consistency and clarity of how designs fit into the product.

  • Ensure a high caliber of visual design and manifesting the brand through the user experience.

  • Understand how your work feeds into the strategy and articulate how your work achieves our wider company initiatives.

  • Contribute to the strategic thinking and prioritization with the rest of the Product team.

  • Keep leadership and project teams informed of project status against agreed-upon timeframes.

  • Escalate issues that may compromise product performance to the team.

Education and Experience:

  • 2-4 years in product/UX design and 2 years leading large-scale design projects

  • Experience in interaction design, web design, mobile app design, and B2C products

  • Proficiency with modern design tools (such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Cloud)

  • Ability to identify and solve user problems

  • Facility with data (experience with medium-to-large-scale survey data, etc)

  • Ability to provide a strong visual portfolio

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience working with highly technical teams

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly-dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders in a remote working environment
