Anticipated compensation: Starting at $114,200-$136,900, commensurate with experience

What You’ll Do
In this role, the Director of Financial Planning and Accounting will be responsible for the financial decision-making process and ensuring full transparency over the financial performance of the organization. The Director of Financial Planning and Accounting will be responsible for thought leadership in Finance practices and financial reporting. This role will regularly interact with the Senior Leadership Team and manage the finance team to ensure the organization's financial integrity and best interest, exercising discretion and judgment in actions, recommendations, and decisions. This role works collaboratively with management and program staff, and is heavily involved in ensuring the financial and administrative compliance of funding sources. The Director manages the financial operations and the finance team and leads the budget and audit processes. Your responsibilities will include the following:
Communicate and partner with the CFO to ensure regular communication for discussion and advisement regarding funding, budgeting, financial performance, financial and administrative compliance, and other topics critical to the organization
Oversee the daily financial operations of the organization, managing supporting financial systems for integrity, the work of the Finance Team, and ensuring timely, accurate reporting of multi-fund internal financial statements
Partner with the CFO to identify and assess financial and other risks
Design, modify, and implement systems to address risk, and ensure internal controls for the organization are adequate and are followed, and serve as the liaison for business insurance products
Lead the annual budget development process, working closely with the CFO and program staff to consider and plan for organizational, and program needs; runs interim projections as needed and provides regular analysis of financial performance to inform management and to ensure grant compliance
Conduct the annual audit process, coordinating with our audit firm to ensure a smooth efficient process and produce draft financial statements and schedules for audit reports
Lead as an administrator of the federal and non-federal programs that Saga administers, participating in the budget development, supporting the application process, recommending the stand up of systems and accounting structure for new grants, reviewing and ensuring the timeliness of financial reports/billings prepared by Finance Team
Partner with Program, Grants, and Compliance to ensure the adequate completion of the grant close-out process paying close attention to federal administrative requirements
Work closely with Program Managers to ensure all relevant financial and administrative compliance requirements have been identified and systems are in place to ensure compliance
Ensure that program managers have the financial information they need in order to effectively manage their programs and meet regularly with program staff directors to review performance against grant and program budgets
Collaborate with program staff to ensure grantee financial monitoring systems are in place and occurring
Partner with CFO to set the direction and strategy for the Finance Team
Hire, train, and develop Finance Team members

What You Bring
You have a master’s in Finance/ Accounting or an MBA
You have 5-7 years of experience with accounting functions and financial forecasting
You are detail and results oriented with experience taking complex data and find key metrics
You have expert level problem solving and analytical skills
You have experience developing effective teams
