
Company Spokesperson
About the role
As the Company Spokesperson, you will be the public face of Scott’s Cheap Flights and will be responsible for presenting the company’s message through various media channels. While primarily working with the Marketing Team, you will at times work cross-functionally with other teams to gather data and additional information related to travel industry trends and the latest brand news. You will communicate the latest travel news, trends, and data on national television programs, top-tier news outlets, podcasts, and radio programs with both a confident and personable approach.

In the short term, you will
Be available for interviews with members of the media on television programs, podcasts, radio shows, online, and in print.
Represent the organization at community events, trade shows, conventions, or other public gatherings when appropriate.
Participate in and host online discussions across social media channels such as Twitter and Instagram, covering the latest travel news, reports, and trends.
In the long term, you will
Assist the Public Relations Manager with tasks such as pitching story ideas to journalists and reporting.
Help expand our media footprint by being available on short notice to speak with journalists about a variety of topics related to the travel industry.
Use your experience and network to open new doors for media opportunities.
Become a recognizable face for Scott’s Cheap Flights.
Work with leadership and marketing to develop a crisis management and communication plan.
What you know
Excellent public speaking skills.
A passion for media relations.
Located in the New York City area or a nearby city. Most national in-studio appearances take place there.
Strong communication skills that convey messages to the public clearly and in an entertaining matter.
Personable and quick on their feet when it comes to working with the media.
Willingness to learn about the travel industry and the brand.
Space to record high-quality at-home television interviews.
Preferred
Travel industry background.
Strong relationships with producers, editors, reporters, writers, and other members of the media.
Has been a spokesperson or represented a brand to the media.
Experience working on crisis messaging and communication plans.
