About the Role
Second Nature is looking for an experienced Lead DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of DevOps principles and practices, extensive experience with cloud platforms, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and a passion for continuous improvement.
As the Lead DevOps Engineer, you will drive the DevOps strategy, and ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain the DevOps roadmap, including automation, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and monitoring strategies.
Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices and tools across the organization.
Collaborate with various teams to integrate DevOps processes into the overall software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure.
Manage and optimize the performance, availability, and cost-effectiveness of infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with security best practices, including implementing and managing security measures and policies.
Oversee the design and implementation of automated deployment pipelines for various environments.
Identify opportunities for automation within the infrastructure and software development processes.
Continuously improve and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enhance efficiency and reduce time-to-market.
Implement and manage monitoring tools and systems to ensure proactive detection of issues.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on DevOps initiatives, project status, and system performance.
Preferred Qualifications
7+ years experience in DevOps or related role
3+ years in a leadership role
Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.).
Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Understanding of networking, security best practices, and system administration.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Certification in relevant DevOps or cloud technologies.
Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing.
Knowledge of database management and optimization (SQL/NoSQL).
