WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

We're seeking an enterprise observability Developer Advocate to join a small but growing Developer Relations team, driving awareness and enablement for SquaredUp’s enterprise observability portal. Your role will involve directly engaging the community, creating inspiring content, and collaborating with a global team of skilled Developer Advocates, Product Managers, Developers, and Marketers.

Although the term “developer” is in the title, you'll engage and empower engineering teams of all kinds – software developers, site reliability engineers, product managers, platform architects, and monitoring teams – to think differently about the approaches they use to leverage data across their business. Our Developer Relations teams are distributed around the world and a majority of the group works remotely.

WHAT QUALITIES CAN YOU BRING TO SQUAREDUP?

At the foundation of your passion and expertise is a love to enable others. Our ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in a technical role in monitoring or observability, working directly within an enterprise. You’ll leverage this experience to connect with a community of users SquaredUp aims to reach.

You should be an effective teacher with the ability to explain complex issues in a simple, understandable manner.

•Experience monitoring infrastructure and applications including those deployed in the cloud (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)

•Prolific or aspiring author of content (blogs, white papers, etc.) with expectation of high output.

•Excellent communicator in public settings (e.g., internal company briefings, webinars, podcasts, videos, etc.)

•Expertise with APIs and/or scripting languages like PowerShell and SQL

•Track record and ambition of presenting at events and/or via YouTube, Webinars, or Live Streams

•Available for up to 30% travel

We don’t expect candidates to have experience in all of these, but knowledge of some and a willingness to learn is desirable.

If you have talent in abundance, we have the packages to match; including private medical care, a generous holiday allowance, home set up budget, volunteering days and company share options. Most importantly you’ll be working with talented individuals who like to have FUN…. from tech meetups to roller-coasters, poker, table tennis, board games, bake-offs, and music nights – there’s always plenty going on. Not to mention our Slack channel which is full of randomness

SquaredUp knows there’s more to life than just work and our dedicated Wellbeing Team are here to support you! We want to encourage you to stay active, connect with your mental health, and overall achieve a great work/life balance.
