About the Role:

A rare opportunity to help define a growing sales team in a well-funded SaaS startup with great customer traction. You will represent the voice of the customer in our product definition and have a big opportunity for impact. As the first AE in the team, you will be responsible for building and executing our sales strategy. A key part of the role would require you to master the value that a large number of enterprises are driving from Apache Pinot and articulate that to potential customers. Another key aspect of the role would be to build a scalable operations model to enable predictable forecasting and reporting of the opportunities in the pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  1. Execute on the Sales Strategy to build a scalable, low touch sales pipeline

  2. Harness inbound opportunities and shepherd them to completion –learning with every opportunity to identify ways to streamline the process

  3. Ability to build a pipeline and drive new business in a green field territory or from named accounts

  4. Articulate the value proposition and build awareness for the offering in the marketplace to drive inbound activity

  5. Drive organic growth in existing customer base as well as ensure new customers are able to fully realize the value of the product

  6. Manage opportunities in the sales cycle from initial inquiry to close

  7. Collaborate with Marketing, Product and SA teams to ensure Messaging and the Roadmap are aligned to the Sales Strategy and Pipeline

Requirements:

  1. 8+ Years of experience selling SaaS software, to both enterprise and mid-market organizations

  2. 5+ Years of experience working in the Database or Data Analysis/Delivery space

  3. Experience working in early stage companies with a proven ability to bootstrap sales strategy and execution is a huge plus

  4. Excellent negotiation, analytical, financial and organizational capabilities. Able to thrive in an evolving, entrepreneurial structure and environment.
