UX/UI Designer

Lift Ventures, a remote-first startup studio whose portfolio of businesses has reached over 250 million consumers to date, is looking for a talented UX/UI Designer to join our team and work on high-priority design projects for our fast-growing EdTech business SuperSummary (supersummary.com). SuperSummary is a subscription-based website offering a library of professionally-written study guides and other educational resources on thousands of books for students, teachers, and readers of all types.

As our second full-time designer, you’ll be working with our lead Product Designer and broader Product Team (currently led by our CEO) to shape the user experience and visual design of SuperSummary's platform. You’ll help us ensure best-in-class product consistency, quality, and usability for our customers. You will also work closely with our engineering team to bring new and innovative features to market. Given the distributed nature of our team, this role is remote; most of our product team is currently located in Brazil and the rest of our team is distributed throughout the US and Latin America.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

As a UX/UI designer, your primary goal will be to:

  • Develop user-centered and data-driven wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes to communicate design concepts.

  • Create and maintain design systems and style guides, including visual identity systems, typography, and color palettes

  • Develop intuitive and visually pleasing interfaces

  • Conduct usability testing and A/B tests to validate design decisions

  • Contribute to the entire product team in our processes, share feedback, and participate in team discussions with our CEO and other leadership team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-4 years of experience in UX/UI design

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Design or related field preferred.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing your design process and examples of your work

  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Suite

  • Strong understanding of interaction design and user-centered design principles

  • Knowledge of branding principles and best practices.

  • Strong written and verbal English skills

  • A dedication to creative problem-solving and innovative thinking

It would be great if you also:

  • Experience with EdTech, software, subscription, and/or ecommerce companies, ideally working on leveraging high-quality design to improve conversion rate and retention

  • Experience designing landing pages, calls-to-action, and optimizing a funnel

  • Prior expertise with design sprints and/or design thinking workshops

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of motion design principles and techniques

  • Knowledge of AI-based tools and techniques for creating designs

  • Experience in conducting user research

  • Experience creating and implementing brand strategies and visual identity systems.
