Senior 3D Environment Artist

Concept Artists, and other 3D Artists to create landscapes, spaces, and models for the world of Sky: Children of the Light and an unannounced project. The ideal candidate understands that making an environment is more than creating beautiful content to fill spaces but is also an opportunity to tell the story behind the world players inhabit. Please note: Demonstrating artistic skills with our 3D Art Test is required for this position.

What You’ll Do Here: 

• Create landscapes using our own proprietary terrain system

• Create models and set dress these landscapes to support the narrative and gameplay

• Establish environmental lighting and atmosphere for new or existing levels

• Create environmental effects such as god rays, fog, bloom, exposure, particles etc.

• Work closely with technical artists to create custom shaders

• Collaborate with project leads, concept artists, and designers 

• Brainstorm ideas and create rapid prototypes during the concept phase 

• Support the rest of the modeling team to create cosmetic and level content

• Assist other departments throughout the studio on environment or modeling needs

Must Haves:

• 5+ years of experience working in games 

• Proficient modeling skills in Maya or equivalent 

• Strong sense of composition, lighting, and color theory

• Self-motivated, humble, and a team player 

• Open-minded and great at handling criticism

• Passionate about creating unique and innovative 3D look

Nice to Haves:

• A passionate Sky player

• Ability to design gameplay levels and spaces

• Knowledgeable on ancient civilization and cultures

• A love for games especially titles similar to Flower, Journey or Sky!

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000 USD annually, 
with the opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. This salary is an estimate,
and the actual salary may vary based on the geographic location, job-related knowledge,
skils and experience, and the Company's compensation practices.
