Accounting Manager

TigerData is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead and execute core financial operations, including managing the month-end close, resolving customer billing inquiries, preparing financial reporting packages, and ensuring accuracy across accounts receivable, payroll, sales tax compliance, and beyond.

This role is hands-on and high-impact. You’ll report directly to our Controller and be their right hand. Using your strong knowledge base, your desire to help a small team grow, and your drive to take ownership, you will lead important processes such as month, quarter, and year-end closes.

📍 Location requirement: US-based, East Coast time zone required for overlap with Finance and GTM teams.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:

• Supporting the Controller on conducting and improving the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts.

• Building and refining our financial reporting packages, balance sheet, P&L, and executive summaries

• Owning NetSuite: managing GL, maintaining modules, and troubleshooting issues

• Assisting with payroll and partnering with People Ops to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Handling US sales tax, 1099s, and coordinating with external providers on corporate tax

• Supporting external audits and building internal processes that scale

• Working across every account from reconciling GL to resolving billing questions, including direct outreach to customers for payments and issue resolution

• Collaborating cross-functionally with GTM, Legal, and People teams to get things booked, billed, and closed

• Constantly improving our controls, reporting cadence, and systems; think automation, not manual workarounds

You could be a great fit if you:

• Have 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally across both public accounting and startups

• Have 1+ years of hands-on experience in NetSuite

• Know your way around US GAAP and love a clean close

• Have worked in a startup or high-growth environment. You don’t flinch at ambiguity or rolling up your sleeves

• Are willing to work across all areas of accounting (AP, AR, taxes, payroll, reporting)

• Communicate with clarity and confidence, especially when something’s off

• Bonus: experience at a Big 4 firm or in an auditor role

• Bonus: experience with Stripe, Expensify, Bill.com, or related tools

• Bonus: interest in AI tools that can streamline accounting workflows

You might not be a great fit if:

• You’re looking for a large team or lots of handoffs; this is lean and high-impact

• You need highly structured processes, or you aren’t comfortable figuring things out

• You don’t want to talk to customers. This person will reach out about payments and billing
