Direct Manager Title: Client Finance Analyst
The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as a Billing Specialist. The ideal candidate will own the entire client billing process from the point a statement of work is signed through to reconciliation at the conclusion of the contract. Additional responsibilities include assisting with month-end closing functions such as revenue recognition journal entries and client financial reporting.
What You’ll Do
Generate accurate and timely invoices on a monthly basis across various professional services and media billing models (i.e. Fixed fee, Retainer, Time & Materials, Media Commissions)
Set up new clients for billing in Workfront and NetSuite, ensuring accurate account configurations
Collaborate with client services teams to review invoices prior to client distribution, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client agreements
Compare current month invoices to prior months to identify discrepancies or significant changes and address issues proactively
Ensure billing aligns with project milestones and deliverables tracked in Workfront
Review contracts and Statements of Work (SOWs) to ensure alignment with deliverables, milestones, and payment terms; create and issue accurate invoices based on contract specifications and project progress
Prepare and distribute monthly billing reports to client teams
Reconcile projects at the end of the contract and ensure all billing and revenue items are closed out accurately
Assist with month-end revenue recognition entries
Support client inquiries related to invoicing, resolving issues promptly and professionally
Ideal Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
1-2 years of billing experience, preferably in a digital marketing or media environment
Proficiency in NetSuite and Workfront is highly desirable
Strong Excel skills; comfortable with pivot tables and basic formulas
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills
