UX Content Writer

We’re looking for a UX Content Writer. This position will report to the Director of Product and Design. In this role, you will help to convey the Uplift Brand while playing a key role in the product discovery and development process, working hand-in-hand with our design, product, research, and analytics teams to build and execute effective content plans. Strong communication skills combined with impeccable attention to detail will help you elicit valuable input from user research and business stakeholders while allowing the content to speak for itself in advocating on behalf of the user.

The right candidate will be an artful storyteller with the ability to own content end-to-end. In this role, you will be successful if you love writing and storytelling, have a deep understanding of how to effectively translate a brand voice and have experience writing across a variety of digital channels.

What you will do and achieve

  • Plan, write, edit, test, and improve UX copy for product experiences, including user flows, landing pages, products, and more across web and mobile

  • Think through projects strategically and creatively, from ideation through production, working cross-functionally with partners in research, data analytics, marketing, design, product, and engineering

  • Work closely with data analysts and researchers to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including in-person research and A/B testing, to create uplifting, and forward-thinking copy that drives product adoption and builds brand loyaltyHelp strategize, implement, and maintain a consistent content strategy throughout the product experience, deeply understanding how customers interact with Uplift, using data to inform decisions, and building alignment between UX and marketing content

  • Help create and maintain a content library with a changelog and versioning across multiple products, marketing channels and legal documents and disclosures. 

  • Help establish the content guidelines for the design system and the content rules for components and patterns

  • Assist in the creation of wireframes, mockups, and task flows to effectively communicate UX content ideasCreate with the customer/consumer in mind – their journey and experience with us should be seamless and friction-free

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Advertising, or a related field or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience writing UX and product copy

  • 2+ years of experience as a writer or editor with past examples of writing within the fintech space. 

  • The successful candidate must provide writing samples. Preferably samples that demonstrate their ability to write within the context of fintech, lending, and/or BNPL industries and their familiarity with the standard terminology.

  • Proven excellence in writing and editing with relentless attention to detail. 

  • Experience supporting the full product development process, from inception to launch to iteration

  • Intermediate Figma skills, including working directly in Figma files, writing content, commenting on/critiquing designs, and mapping out content flows

  • Experience with content strategy development/copy auditing/competitive audit experience. 

  • Consumer brand experience with strong knowledge of the different needs between web and mobile
