Senior Billing Manager

We are seeking a Senior Billing Manager to join our team. Please note that this is a freelance project that may potentially transform into a permanent collaboration in the future.


🚀 What you’ll do:

  • Contract Auditing: review and analyze customer contracts to ensure terms and conditions are accurately captured across platforms; verify that all contractual obligations and billing terms are met and documented appropriately; maintain a comprehensive database of all customer contracts and amendments.

  • Billing Management: generate and issue invoices accurately and on time, according to contract specifications; manage subscription billing cycles, including new subscriptions, renewals, upgrades, and cancellations; reconcile billing data with accounting records to ensure consistency.

  • Compliance and Revenue Recognition: ensure all billing activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606); collaborate with the Accounting and Sales team to recognize revenue appropriately and assist in financial audits.

  • Discrepancy Resolution: identify and resolve discrepancies between contract terms and billing records; work closely with the sales and customer support teams to address and rectify any billing issues.

  • Process Improvement: recommend and implement improvements to billing and contract auditing processes; stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes affecting billing and contracts.

  • Reporting and Analysis: prepare regular reports on billing activities, outstanding receivables, and contract statuses; analyze billing data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for optimization.

  • Customer Support: respond to customer inquiries related to contracts and billing; provide exceptional customer service to resolve billing disputes and enhance client satisfaction.

🔥 Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in contract auditing and billing, preferably within a SaaS or technology company

  • Strong understanding of billing processes, contract management, and revenue recognition principles

  • Proficiency with billing and accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, Zuora)

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards is highly desirable

  • Certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) are a plus
