Product Design and Production Specialist Contractor
Description
As a Product Design and Production Specialist Contractor, you will create innovative design solutions and play an integral role in ongoing projects that deliver on Wayside goals. The Product Design and Production Specialist Contractor will be responsible for building print and digital resources and populating our Learning Management System with assets already vetted by our editors and curriculum coordinators for the World Language Educational curriculum. This position will foster a collaborative work environment, help team members stay organized, and make sure all workload timelines and deliverables are met. This position thrives on accuracy and efficiency, advocates for the customer perspective, and displays a fervent desire for lifelong learning, collaboration, and innovation.

Requirements
Digital Production
Participates in ongoing title maintenance from the first release to any subsequent releases and/or digital versions.
Collaborates with the Product Development team to build digital activities, organize, upload, and maintain digital program content, and perform quality assurance for accuracy and functionality.
Management and coordination of digital assets (e.g., images, audio, video, etc.).
Prepares digital assets—HTML interactives, video, audio, PDF—for the platform (Learning Site).
Must be experienced in LMS, CMS, and web authoring tools.
Using expertise in correcting HTML files in Dreamweaver or a similar HTML Editor.
Experience analyzing and mitigating LMS educational content during QA; with a special focus on World Language products.
Digital Asset Management experience: organizing and storing assets, and applying metadata.
Implementing ADA-compliant requirements during product creation and release.
Editing and validation of QTI content are a plus.
Basic ALT-text writing is a plus.
Executes tasks promptly to ensure deadlines are not missed.
Communication
Stays abreast on the latest Edtech and digital technologies best practices and trends and provides feedback on internal design processes.
Works closely with the Product Development team and other departments to ensure project expectations are met and exceeded.
Ensures content integrity and collaborates with developmental editors and project managers to address customer feedback.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Knowledge, & Attributes
Bachelor's degree in a related field (Education, Fine Arts, Computer Science, Computer Programming) or equivalent work experience.
Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign, Photoshop, Dreamweaver)
HTML/CSS knowledge; proficiency in XML, markdown syntax, and other coding languages is a plus.
Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in educational content development and digital production
Experience with audio, video, and image editing
Database management/CMS/LMS/e-learning systems management experience
Ability to self-manage deadlines and be communicative regarding workload and expectations
Ability to identify and capture best practices and quickly disseminate them to all team-members
Critical thinking and problem-solving
Positive attitude. Persuasive and confident communicator (both oral and written)
Must be highly collaborative and team-oriented
Ability to identify, prioritize, and focus on critical tasks
Accurate and detail-oriented with an editorial eye
Strong organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines.
World language experience preferred.
