Job Summary
ActiveProspect is seeking an experienced Sr Director of Accounting CPA to join our growing Accounting team. You will lead the Accounting and Tax organization to ensure that we are compliant with US GAAP and all tax laws. You will provide leadership and development to the Accounting team and ensure that there is strong cross functional training and job knowledge across the team. You will be tasked with improving the function, efficiency, and performance of the team to get to a 5 day Accounting close. Our ideal candidate will have previous Controllership experience leading a successful team and reporting to the CFO. You must have Netsuite’s experience and have worked at a SaaS based Software company. You will report directly to our CFO. We are a fast growing company with unlimited opportunities looking for someone to lead our accounting team into the next phase of rigor and scalability.
Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible for establishing Accounting Policy, procedures and developing the team to deliver high caliber timely results
Responsible for staff evaluation, skills development, and developing a cohesive and collaborative team to deliver a high level of service throughout the organization
The team is fully remote, and part of the functions are delivered by consultants
Ensure appropriate roles are assigned in NetSuite, and ensure appropriate segregation of duties
Own all Treasury and Banking solutions for day to day operations including development of a 13 week cash flow
Develop Tax strategies that align with our operational practices and ensure compliance with all tax laws
Assist in managing the cap table, understanding the equity waterfall and calculating the 409A valuation in partnership with the CFO
Ensure that there is a strong onboarding and training program for all Accounting/Tax employees including desk procedures
Oversee and be the point person for system implementations such as Consolidated Billing from an Accounting and tax perspective
Responsible for the Footnotes and Disclosure on the Financial Statements
Manage any M&A and purchase accounting
Experience implementing systems
Ad hoc projects as requested
Qualifications and Skills
10-12+ years experience, with 3-5+ years experience as a Controller at a $50M+ revenue SaaS/software company
3+ years NetSuite experience required
CPA required
7+ years managing teams required
Must be highly proficient with NetSuite’s revenue recognition & financial reporting for a SaaS business & Zone billing
Excellent Leadership and Communication skills
Strong Builder of Teams and Collaborator across the organization to solve cross functional and complex problems
Well-organized with the ability to prioritize independently
Experience with international expansion and M&A
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
A passion for leveraging systems and driving efficiency through process improvements
