UI/UX Artist at Atomhawk:

Options for hybrid working from our Newcastle studio or UK remote.

Atomhawk is looking for a talented UI/UX Artist with UMG experience to join UI/UX & Graphic Design team. As an Atomhawk UI/UX Artist, you’ll design intuitive, engaging interfaces for AAA games and work with a variety clients across the industry on both asset-based and ongoing retainer collaborations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build engaging user interfaces across multiple platforms, balancing strong usability with visual polish.

• Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate interaction flow and design intent.

• Collaborate closely with designers, artists, and engineers to integrate UI seamlessly within the game engine.

• Create high-quality assets such as icons, menus, and HUD elements that enhance the player experience.

• Continuously refine and iterate on designs based on team feedback, playtest results, and best practices.

• Ensure a consistent visual language and user experience across all screens and features.

• Stay up to date with the latest trends and tools in game UI/UX to keep our experiences modern and innovative.

Requirements:

• A portfolio demonstrating experience as a UI/UX Artist in game development.

• Experience with Unreal Engine’s UMG system for implementing menus, HUDs, and other UI components, collaborating closely with engineers to bring designs to life

• Strong proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.

• Solid understanding of UX principles, usability, and player-centered design.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.

• Nice to have: familiarity with motion design in After Effects and/or basic 3D modeling software.
