Digital Engineering Lead - US Army

Barbaricum seeks an experienced Digital Engineering professional to support the US Army's Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and  Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center and its Engineering and Systems Integration Directorate. Specifically, this position will play a leading role in the effort to design, develop, and implement next-generation analytic capabilities across C5ISR domains including all-source, Electronic Warfare, Cyber Intelligence, Signals Intelligence, and Intelligence Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED).

 

The Digital Engineering Lead will integrate with an array of technical staff charged with developing and implementing quick reaction capabilities to fill the defense community's urgent needs and support end-user operational requirements. This team will develop and sustain complex system of systems architectures operating across multiple branches and operational theatres supporting National,  Joint, and Tactical-level intelligence operations and domains.

Responsibilities

  • Support the full life cycle engineering of enterprise-scale hardware and software systems for distributed military intelligence systems,

  • utilizing multiple programming languages, data persistence platforms, and architectural modeling tools.

  • Lead efforts to bring together sub-elements of software components to form a holistic solution.

  • Lead efforts utilizing modern software development processes, to include industry-standard developer operation models applying CI and deployment capabilities; object-oriented development, modularization, and containerization methodologies; and distributed processing and data analytic platforms.

  • Lead efforts for translating operational requirements into the detailed software/system technical requirements and refactor engineering facilitating the integration of COTS products into software/system architectures.

Qualifications

  • Active DoD TS/SCI Clearance

  • Minimum of seven years of experience in the design, integration, and analysis of military systems with data modeling, data architecture, data interoperability, and evaluation

  • Minimum of five years of experience leading digital transformation initiatives with big data platforms, solutions, and cloud-based development on cloud platforms environments (i.e., Amazon Web Services (AWS), MS Azure, Oracle, and Google Cloud Platforms)

  • Minimum of five years of experience implementing data model concepts, data taxonomies, and data ontologies to classify enterprise data

  • Minimum of five years of experience designing and implementing decoupled cloud-based solutions supporting big data and data analytics using Modular Open Systems Architecture

  • Minimum of five years of experience with software development, architectural design, and requirements decomposition of complex systems that include multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Perl, Python and Jscript)

  • Experience with designing, developing, and implementing cloud migration strategies

Desired Qualifications

  • Five years of experience leading a co-located and matrixed workforce for diverse portfolios through the development, production, fielding, sustainment, and follow-on improvement of intelligence or other combat capabilities to ensure the integration and interoperability of combat systems

  • Five years of experience with data engineering, data synchronization, data replication, and interoperability for complex systems leveraging industry standard tools such as ERWIN Data Modeler, Magic Draw Unified Modeling Language (UML), MS Structured Query Language (SQL), Oracle, HADOOP, HIVE, and MongoDB
