People/Payroll Generalist

About the role:

Bolt is seeking a People Ops and Payroll Generalist to support our growing team. A successful candidate is priority-driven, detail-oriented, and an efficient operator. Through solid communication & acute business understanding, they can juggle multiple urgent matters to continuously drive change, listen and pick up on queues to help build strong relationships, and act as evangelists for the entire organization.

In this role, you will…

  • Process and master full-cycle payroll for our US-based and International employee populations utilizing ADP and Deel payroll software

  • Interface with company employees and triage HR-related needs as the first point of contact for HR-related questions

  • Act as a point of contact with the company's external partners (brokers, PEO) and process updates and changes to our systems and employee files as needed

  • Organize and become a subject matter expert on information related to company benefits and People Ops processes

  • Support and process improve our existing people processes and workflows

  • Partner with functional leads on larger projects and organizational changes

  • Identify and execute continuous improvement of HR programs and processes to improve the overall employee and manager experience

  • Administrative HR support, such as performance management, reporting, and compensation data, in partnership with HR Business Partners, People Ops Leaders, and Executive leadership

Experience…

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist capacity, preferably at a fast-growing startup

  • Familiarity and comfortable working in remote/distributed teams

  • Prior payroll experience is required; ADP experience preferred

  • Knowledgeable about state and national regulations concerning all aspects of employment (vacation, overtime pay, employee benefit eligibility, etc.)

  • Customer service attitude toward internal employees

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to set high personal goals and work independently

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with various departments

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Precise attention to detail

Target earnings: The compensation for this role is targeted between $119K-147K per year. Final offer amount is determined by a number of factors including but not limited to experience and position level. At Bolt, we take a geographically neutral approach to compensation, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location.
