We are seeking a passionate Staff Backend Engineer to join our Data & Channel Management Team. 

The team’s work is critical to the Brandwatch platform and works as part of the wider Data Ingestion Group to provide reliable access to high-quality data at scale that our clients rely on.

We value people with curious minds, who have the appetite and energy to solve interesting problems, and who are motivated by the possibility of making a positive difference in the lives of others.

What you’ll do:

  • Work as part of an agile engineering team of 5 other engineers with clear team ownership over a set of critical platform services

  • Plan long-term system-level changes for our projects

  • Work with other teams to create solutions for problems overarching on team domains

  • Mentor other developers so they can become better software engineers

  • Deliver elegant, scalable, self-testing, well-documented code

  • Continuously develop yourself, bring new ideas to the team and also learn from your colleagues

What you have:

  • Solid knowledge of Java and Spring Framework.

  • A thorough understanding of SQL databases.

  • Good understanding of containerization systems like Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with Kafka or similar technology.

  • Knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud is a big plus

  • English language fluency
