Product Designer
C the Signs is dedicated to transforming the future of cancer care through our innovative AI-powered platform. We empower healthcare professionals and patients with the tools and information needed to effectively recognize cancer symptoms, ensuring timely treatment and improved outcomes. As we expand our impact, we are looking for a passionate UX/UI Designer to join our talented team.
This role
We're looking for a UX/UI Designer to join our growing Product team at the intersection of clinical practice and digital health innovation.
Reporting to the Director of Product, you will be embedded in our product squads helping translate complex healthcare workflows and AI-driven clinical tools into experiences that are intuitive, safe, and genuinely useful for both clinicians and patients.
This is a hands-on role with real craft expectations. You'll design across our NHS-facing B2B platform and contribute to our growing direct-to-patient surface, working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Clinicians, and Customer Success.
You will be a key voice for the user in every product decision.
What youβll do
Product Design & Craft
Own end-to-end design across key product areas β from early-stage wireframes and flows to polished, production-ready UI
Design experiences that reduce friction and build trust, particularly for users navigating sensitive clinical information or receiving risk assessments
Translate complex clinical logic, AI outputs, and data-heavy workflows into clear, accessible, human-centred interfaces
Contribute to and help evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability across web and mobile surfaces
Discovery & Research
Lead or support lightweight user research β interviews, usability testing, and workflow observation β with NHS clinicians and patients
Synthesise insights from customer support, customer success, and clinical feedback to continuously improve the experience
Identify friction points and unmet needs across our user journeys and present findings clearly to the wider product team
Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams and Clinical Advisors to ship well-considered, high-quality product experiences
Work closely with Customer Success and Support to ensure product decisions reflect real-world clinical implementation needs
Communicate design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders β articulating the 'why' behind every choice
Collaborate with Marketing on go-to-market assets and patient-facing content where design quality matters
Requirements
5+ years of experience in product design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX/UI work
Background in 0-to-1 product work or early-stage startups
Proven ability to simplify complex, information-dense workflows into intuitive, human-centred experiences
Experience in healthtech, diagnostics, or another regulated or clinical environment
Highly proficient in Figma β from early-concept prototyping to component-level design system work
AI-native in your workflow β you leverage AI tools to move faster, iterate more, and spend your time on the decisions that matter, not the repetitive work
Experience designing for both web and mobile, with a sharp eye for visual detail and interaction quality
Comfortable working across B2B and consumer surfaces, adapting tone and fidelity to the context
Deep empathy for users β especially those engaging with sensitive or high-stakes information
Strong communicator who can articulate design rationale across disciplines and hold their ground when it matters
Able to operate with autonomy in a fast-paced environment, balancing craft with pragmatism and speed
Nice to Have
Familiarity with NHS workflows, EHR systems (EMIS, SystmOne), or care pathway design
Exposure to DCB0129/DCB0160, MHRA SaMD frameworks, or ISO 13485
Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) in regulated or public-sector digital products
Benefits
Competitive salary
Opportunity to work with a team that respects clinical expertise and builds it into the product process from day one
A dynamic, mission-driven environment where your work directly impacts patient outcomes
