Product Manager

A typical work week

• Participate in product discovery meetings with the leadership team and other colleagues. This is where we discuss upcoming features based on the roadmap, as well as input from customers/prospects. This should result in clearly defined requirements (stories) for the team

• Document and present the requirements to the team explaining how they benefit the customers

• Participate in daily meetings and be in contact with story owners and the design team

• Incorporate technical debt and technical requirements into the backlog

• Research (cloud security news, competitors, open-source tools, cloud providers, etc.)

• Go through notes from various discussions (internal or with customers)

• Use and test the Cyscale product

• Work on the backlog and update the tracking view on progress against the roadmap

• Go through metrics making sure things are going as planned

Responsibilities

• Together with the leadership team, help refine the roadmap

• Participate in product discussions and bring input based on own research (market, competitor’s products, customer input)

• Organize and prioritize the myriad of features we will deliver each quarter

• Translate business requirements into requirements for the dev team and vice-versa

• Write user stories and collaborate with the technical team to break them down into tasks

• Coordinate the collaboration between the technical team and the design team

• Efficiently conduct or delegate research work for new features

• Ensure that features get delivered

• Validate that the delivered features provide value to the customers, either directly or through other stakeholders involved in customer discussions

Required Skills

• Comfortable with changing priorities and being proactive

• Proven track record of delivering a product

• At least 3 years experience in a similar role

• Capacity and desire to analyze the market and the competition

• Agile experience (we recently switched from SCRUM to Kanban)

Nice to have:

• Solid understanding of the public cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Experience with Kubernetes or other cloud providers is also great

• Technical background, MSc/BSc in Computer Science would be ideal
